    Changing 1/4" barb to 5/16"

Unless you have a very long run from keg to tap, 3/16 ID beer line should be plenty, but if you really want to use 5/16 you should get ball lock disconnect with MFL connection, then get adapter to 5/16 barb, like this...

    Anyone using induction cooktop?

With 3500W IB I heat strike water in about 20 minutes to 170 F while I grind grains. I heat wort from mash temp to boil in maybe another 20 minutes. I use 1500 W IB to heat sparge water while mashing in about 30-40 minutes.

Vintage bottle capper...good idea or bad???

I recently bought a similar capper by same mfr., Made in 1930's. Works better than any wing capper I have tried. You'll find it works well on stubby bottles where wing capper won't fit.

You let the boiling water cool before you added the yeast, right?

    Cheap compact wort pump

I went ahead and built my beer line recirculation cleaning rig (pop bottle and tan pump) and it worked very well. I flushed with water so I did not leave the BLC solution in contact with anything permanently. I guess time will tell.
