    The Source of Rookie Mistakes

I also think patience needs to be stressed on brew day! Of course its important after the brew is done. I found however that if you are patient during sanitation and while brewing/cooling/transfering it will pay off. I used to feel I had to get the wort transfered and closed within 5...

    Time to Hop??

Yea im not worried about the hop bag. I will wait then until it is in my secondary. Last time i dry hopped the secondary with pellets it stayed at the top. I will have to try the rocking method.

    Time to Hop??

Any particular logic? It seems dry hopping in primary would leave more crap behind during transfer. Is it more sanitary to wait though?

    Time to Hop??

Hey All, I brewed an Anchor Liberty ale last thurs. It has been fermenting for about 1 week and is starting to wind down (clearing). Im probably going to wait until next thurs to take a F.G. reading. (that will be 2 weeks in primary) Should I dry hop now so it will be in the primary for...

    Star San Solution life

Ok, Ive had some star san in a spray bottle for a few days now. When i shake it it still bubbles like crazy and smells like that sulfur smell. The water is the slightest bit cloudy though. Since it bubbles and smells is it still good??

    Star Sans and how long???

I did that on my last brew, i sanitized in the morning and let it sit with saran over it all day. I hope it works. It isnt done yet.

    Confused about Ferment temp

Well i dont have a tub per say. its a container made by tupperware for storage and its 5 inches tall. I have water in that and the towel around the carboy soaking that water up.

    Confused about Ferment temp

I do actually. It does suck because I think the cold towel on it is changing the temp, i have no idea what it actually is inside the carboy. That being said before i wrapped it with a towel it read the same as another thermometer i have in there.

    Confused about Ferment temp

So just put the carboy in a tub with water and wrap a towel around it that is resting in the water. ' Simple enough, is that all it takes?

    Confused about Ferment temp

Its in a carboy. So do you all put your fermenters in a room that is 60 to get a ferment temp of 70 or so?

    Best Turkey Fryer

So would you not suggest it? Can anyone else chime in there has to be more turkey fryer guys out there!
  17. B

    Confused about Ferment temp

Ok, so when I pitched my yeast the wort was 70. The room it is in is 70. The temp on the termometer attached to the carboy is now up to 75 and on the rise because fermentation is going nuts. Should the room temp be 70 or should I find a way to cool the carboy to 70? Which seems like a...
