    Fermented tea ,cider/wine

There's a LHBS south of B'ham called ALABREW. Not sure where in AL you are, but I'm in H'ville and just use Midwest online and haven't had any issues. Most cops I know are more interested in trying the beer instead of busting you for making it.

    Pasteurize the whole thing?

put the one gallon in the oven and slowly bring the temp up to 150, leave it in for 20-30 minutes, turn the oven off, leave the door open, and let it naturally cool back to room temperature. Viola! Putting it in the big pan works too, (150 for 20-30 min or 160 for 10-20 min). I read someone...

    Apple-Plum Sparkling Cider

Replacement Hydro's arrive tomorrow, but I cycled the cider to secondary last night anyways. Added 11oz. Raisins and 4 cinnamon sticks to the bottom of the carboy and siphoned the cider on top. Reserved a taste, it was very good. Still a little sweet, packed a good punch. You could...

5 Gal buckets from the hardware store! 1 with 5 Gal of Oxy Clean, 1 with 5 Gal of Rinse Water 1 with 5 Gal of StarSans 1 with a water/vinegar solution to clean up the IC before use. Buckets make my outside, no sink, turkey fryer brewing much more efficient. Don't have to keep going...

    Apple-Plum Sparkling Cider

Ya, I figured my OG reading is off. If I can find something to use as a hydro test tube I might could use a sanitized baster and pull a test sample tonight or tomorrow before fermenation really kicks in and take another reading, problem is I can't seem to find anything to use that doesn't...

    Apple-Plum Sparkling Cider

My brother-in-law and I just got a cooler full of plums from our father-in-law and we proceeded to pit and juice every last one of them. We got 4 gallons of fresh plum juice for our efforts, 2 each. So I naturally decided to use my half in a cider and cooked it up last night. 2 Gallons...
