    Turkey Fryer Pump

Not knowing anything about that pump, my only question would be, have you ever pumped oil with it? If so, how will you ensure that there is not some oil residue getting in to your wort?

    My Electric Build...Finally....

Looking good. Where did you get the switches?

    Keg for $10I bought a

Good idea... that's a white rubber stopper, a bolt and nut with essentially a fender washer, is it not?

Can't wait for the deliveries to start

Nice... you will post pictures of your build, right?

Need help mounting receptacles in control panel

Curious why a hole saw wouldn't work...did you try a bi-metal one? That should go through that box in about 10 seconds. Ok, maybe 30.

    Keg for $10I bought a

It's too heavy to be aluminum. It does say Anhauser-Busch under the seat cushion too. The side hole is plugged, but not welded shut. I think if I use it as a HLT I will solder a plug of some type in there. But, if they guy at work who offered me a stainless pot with a spigot in the bottom (for...

    My electric brew room

With both of them on, how long does it take to get to a boil? Have you ever tried just one after the boil is going? I'm just wondering if it works because I know nothing about how many watts od element it takes to keep a boil going. What did you pot your element wiring with? That looks like a...

    Keg for $10I bought a

As a matter of fact, I did exactly that while I ate my lunch today.

    Keg for $10I bought a

I bought a keg from someone on Craigslist yesterday for $10. I think it came over on the Mayflower... would someone take a look at it and tell me all you can about it. Well, except "Dude, it's freakin' ugly!" Any keg painted purple and upholstered is automatically ugly...

Why only a single gfci main supply, but no individual circuit protection???

I haven't looked at the inside at all yet, so I sure don't know. So far the box is hiding in my car where my wife won't see it. She's been bear enough to deal with for a week without knowing anything about my project. She'd be impossible should she know I'm actually working on it.

Why only a single gfci main supply, but no individual circuit protection???

Ya know, I hadn't even thought of this, but it sure does make sense. I bought a 50 amp Spa disconnect box today which has places for four circuit breakers...guess I'll add them in there now that there's a reason.

I guess this project is started...

Two more developments today...well, three maybe. I bought a keg that someone made into a chair for $10. With the removal of the cushion seat and some paint it should make a nice HLT. I also bought the $49.99 spa disconnect at HD and, the third thing is, I bought the paint for the stand itself...

Pictures of the build. First time I used photobucket so they are kind of in reverse order. I don't know how to fix that so... http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g371/kklowell/brewstand%20build/

    Wooden Blue Brew Stand

Cool. I'm partial to blue too.

I can't believe how hard drilling a keg is

It has been a long time since I did a hole in a keg, but I know I did one with a cobalt bit and expanded it to the proper size with a die grinder , and that worked ok but did take some time. No more than 5-10 minutes though.

    My electric brew room

Is that room normally dark? If not, shouldn't you have those carboys covered to keep the light out?

Cool... thanks for the quick reply. I like the compact nature of your design, and might just copy it.

    Spa Panel $50

I think I'll buy one of these tomorrow...my pump is a 230 volt model, so I am doing my whole brewery at that voltage, and I really hate the thought of electrocuting myself while doing something fun like brewing. What size wire should I use to connect this to my setup? I'd like to run it to a...

    Counterflow idea

I'm curious how you empty your CFC completely. It would seem that the tubes being vertical would hold a lot of wort.
