    Stovetop Heat Retention

    The stuff I was looking at was http://www.jegs.com/p/Dynamat/Dynamat-Xtreme-Insulation/763880/10002/-1 "Dynamat Xtreme is best for temperatures between 14° F and 140° F (-10° C to 60° C) yet withstands -65° F to 300° F (-54° C to 149° C)"

    Stovetop Heat Retention

    I have a couple of 8-Gallon Aluminum pots that I picked up from Amazon several weeks ago. I've made a couple of extract recipes, and was able to do nearly full boils. I recently tried to do a stove-top AG following Deathbrewer's instruction thread. Even with the lid on, I was losing 5...

    Am I Racking My Pumkin Beer Too Early?

    I have a pumpkin porter in my primary right now, will be 2 weeks this weekend. I figure another week in the primary before I do anything. I added pumpkin to the boil, and have quite a bit of pumpkin stuff in the container. My question is - how long should I keep it in the secondary? Is it just...

    Reading HBT while brewing

    This is a recipe from a local brew shop that the owner adapted to non-all grain for me. I am still learning, but believe it is to increase the taste/abv?

    Dazy and confused...!

    All the companies that sell beer supplies have their own kit, you just have to shop around and decide which you like and at what price. I've been buying most of my stuff from http://www.northernbrewer.com, and even bought their kit. You can get yeast from pretty much all the same places. I...

    pumpkin ale

    I'm not going for a big pumpkin taste, my goal is just a hint of pumpkin. I'll be adding nutmeg and cinnamon with the pumpkin as well, which should help the taste.

    question about honey, and some general advice needed

    Get the 6.5 gallon so you have some room at the top for krausen. I still have my MrBeer kegs, and make a batch or two every few months.

    NB American Wheat ++

    Finally brewed this today. Used dry yeast, and added 1.5lbs honey after adding the extract. The sheet listed 1.040 O.G., I measured 1.050 with the honey. I'll leave this in primary for probably 3 weeks. After seeing some of those videos, went with the blowoff tube instead of the tiny airlock :D

    Random theoretical gas question

    For Helium to make you sound like a munchkin, it needs to pass over your vocal cords. If it's mixed in a liquid there is not enough helium there to make a difference. I like the idea though!!
