Temperature Controlled Burners, Brutus, Banjo BG14, Piloted Honeywell Valve Questions

Wow I didn't see this before but apparently the conversion kit comes with it: "Includes: Natural to LP Conversion Kit, One 1/2" x 3/8" reducer bushing, One 3/4" straight flange" At the bottom of this page. EDIT: The pilot burner also comes with the needed conversion orifice: "Includes...

Temperature Controlled Burners, Brutus, Banjo BG14, Piloted Honeywell Valve Questions

Thanks kladue. I assumed that the valve came with a NG orifice which needed to be swapped out for the LP version. Are you saying that the orifice and the spring that come with it will work fine with LP? -- Josh

Gas and Temperature Control for Dummies

Thanks to all of you for the great information. I'm learning a lot reading through all of these great posts! The Y8610U seems like a nice all-in-one (almost) solution, but that really is more than I want to spend per burner ($230+). I'm planning to automate 2 burners (HLT and MT) with...

Welding 101 = Fun Brutus Build

This rig is looking good! I like the wind/heat shields. I'm planning something similar on mine (maybe with aluminum).

Temperature Controlled Burners, Brutus, Banjo BG14, Piloted Honeywell Valve Questions

I'm building a Brutus 10 style single tier stand with an automated HLT and direct fired MT setup. I have some questions about the gas lines. First off, I'm using BG-14 LP Banjo burners converted to low pressure. I'd like to have valve-integrated standing pilots with safety valves on the HLT and...

    Hello from Melbourne, FL

WoB is a bit of a hike for me from Melbourne Beach. As others have said -- crowded, no food, but they do have good beer. Definitely glad to have Broken barrel and Coasters around here. The Belgian Beer Fest this weekend should be great! http://www.coastersbrewpub.com/belgianfest.html Nice to...

HBT members inspired me: My Keezer Project

Yes. There are 3 pieces of trim going on there. They are all wood-glued, corners cut on 45's, and pneumatically stapled in place. The widest piece is vertical under the 3/4 plywood. Then a skinnier piece along the outer edge of the plywood, flush with the plywood surface. The third piece is a...

I have a 12V 4" fan which is going on the right-side duct opening. My build is rather fresh (just finished what you see here this past Sunday) so I haven't installed it yet, but I will in the next few days. It will kick on with the compressor. I expect it will help serve a dual-purpose by also...

The coffin is attached to the 3/4 plywood using L-brackets. When you do this, make sure you pre-drill all holes. The coffin itself is really not that heavy. Here are some pics of the L-brackets from the inside of the coffin: -- Josh

First pour :mug: Great capacity, here's 4 corney's, a 1/2 barrel of Sierra Celebration, and still a bunch of room: Slight modifications to the store's sanke connector ;) Cheers! -- Josh

Coffin builds (irish coffins, wooden towers)

Thanks for the compliment! I left a 1.5" space between the freezer wall and the tongue-and-groove paneling. I planned to have some small 12V fans wired to come on with the compressor but I haven't added them yet. Honestly, I'm not sure I need it. The paneling doesn't even get slightly warm (the...

Thanks! Yes, the lid is pretty damn heavy with the porcelain tile on it now. I cut down a large-diameter wooden dow to use as a prop and I keep that in the keezer. -- Josh

The keezer has found its final resting place in my bar next to the pool table. The love controller is in, and the wiring complete. The tile is in: I ended up putting a register vent on the compressor door. That thing gives more venting that the original louver cover that was there...
