Anyone brew with pumpkin pie filling?

I added 2 cans of Libbys right to the mash of my pumpkin beer last October. I baked them slightly on a cookie sheet to carmalize a bit after I mixed them with Vanilla extract and pumpkin pie spice the night before I brewed. It was a good beer, I think I may use a little more spice in secondary...

    Hello from Pittsburgh!

Always good to see another brewing 'Burgher! I'm east of the city. Born and raised here. Started all grain brewing a year ago after learning the ropes for about a year with extract and specialty grains. Theres a little shop on Allegheny River Blvd. in Oakmont where I buy most of my stuff...

About to take the kegging plunge (how to never run out of beer)?

You could also use a beer gun, if you feel like spending $80 on one and bottle off a six or 12 pack or however many you want right from the tap. I kind of miss having bottles lying around to give to people, or to sample however long down the road. I haven't tried yet, but I have all of the...

    Mr. Beer Home brew kit

I also started out with MB kits. I think it's a good, fairly fool proof way to get into brewing. Do yourself a favor though, and get a free recipe generator. I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head right now, but there is one you can download that has the MB extracts listed as...

    Red Rye IPA?

Yeah, I think I'm gonna play around with this recipe a little more. This has been put on the back burner for a little bit now. I have 2 other beers Im going to brew first. I have a Chocolate Strawberry Milk Stout and a Late Hop IPA I already have the ingredients for. I might not get to this one...

    Brewing with flower?

I brewed an IPA this past summer with Dried Jasmine Flowers. I was going for something along the lines of Elysian's Avatar Jasmine IPA. http://www.elysianbrewing.com/beer/avatar.html It came out pretty good. A few things I would do different next time though.

    Red Rye IPA?

I honestly dont have a good answer for you, myself man. Probably not much of a difference really give or take a few minutes. Just the schedule I started using after looking at this chart and have had good success with.. I should add I'm gonna add the 1oz. of Amarillo, .5 oz. of Cascade and...

    Red Rye IPA?

Hey guys, first recipe post here. I want to make a Red Rye IPA. Let me know what you think and if there are any changes or mods you'd make to it if it were your beer. Most of it is trying to use up some leftover stuff I have lying around. Seems like it would be good, but I'd like some other...

Thinking of making a nelson sauvin ipa

I love Nelson. Probably my favorite hop right now. I've never tried a single hop ale with it. But I might in the future as I still have 7oz. sitting around here. I have a Nelson/Amarillo/Citra American style Wheat sitting in the fermenter right now. Pretty excited about it. I bittered with NS...

Help with my Citra IPA recipe

I would move or spilt the 2 oz. bittering Citra to the last 15-20 mins. I personally Just do not care fr Citra as a bittering hop. If you're going to add a bittering additon, a little Centennial would be a good choice IMO. What yeast are you using?

    What to dry hop with?

I know, man. Thats what I was thinking too. I'll just have to get some. I have a good bit of unopened hops I just hate spending money on more. I went way overboard in the beginning with hop purchases, haha..

    What to dry hop with?

So, I whipped up this recipe a few weeks ago and brewed yesterday. I wanted to use Sorachi Ace instead of Amarillo, but the LHBS was out of Sorachi. I know, nothing alike but I still thought I could make a tasty, fruity, citrusy, flowery light Wheat Ale with us05 ..Im kind of debating on what to...

    Finally gonna keg!

Thanks guys. Damn, I took it all apart and put the vaseline on the gaskets before I saw any of these replies today. Oh well, it's done now. I will definitely pick some of that lube up for the future though. I'm surprised my guy at the LHBS didn't mention it? I think I might take another trip...

    Bottle conditioning in a growler?

DON'T DO IT! I had a massive bottle bomb go off when I was first starting brewing and didn't know any better. Luckily no one got hurt. It could've been real bad..

    Finally gonna keg!

After 2 years of brewing and bottling small extract and 17 5 gal. all grain batches I finally purchased a shiny new 5 gal. keg :rockin: I already had a kegorator set up for commerical kegs so all I really needed to buy was the keg and a few fittings. I guess I'm just looking for any...

Bananas Foster Creamy Ale (All Grain) **pic intensive**

I can't believe how clear this came out. The clearest beer I've ever brewed. It's still a bit early. Needs another week or 2 in the bottle. I bottled one week ago today, but couldn't help but try one when I noticed how clear it was. Banana definitely sticks out with hints of the rum and vanilla...

When to add Belgian Dark Candi Syrup

I used 2#'s of clear in my last Dark Belgian recipe. 1# at flameout and the other I added when I racked to secondary. One of my best beers to date. Brewers choice though really..
