    Arduino and Pump Issues

I'm not doubting the diagnosis, but would like more explanation as this confuses me. Turning the pump on causes enough voltage drop on his main line to cause the 12v power supply to drop enough to reset the Arduino? Shouldn't the Arduino run fine down to around 7v, since it's regulated down to...

    Florida Single tier stand $200

Mods: I hope this is in keeping with the forum rules. I welded this up from leftover steel, but I'm not in the business of making these, nor do I intend this to be an ongoing venture. If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll delete the post. http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/for/3949017827.html...

ChuckJaxFL's single tier, all electric build thread

Not a lot to report. Less that I can show with a picture. I got the last of the supports welded across the bottom tier, and the vertical supports welded in. I think that's the last of main frame part of the welding. I expect it should be just brackets & such now. I've started a very rough...

Automated Boil Kettle on single tier

Nickeldeposit, Temp control doesn't work for boiling, as boiling occurs at 212F/100C, regardless of how much energy you're dumping into the pot. I.E., I have a boiler that will maintain a boil (at 212) at 45% power of the element. It will also maintain a boil (also at 212) at 100% power...

I love it! I challenge anyone to show me a three-vessel system that stows as neatly.

Yup. I'd prefer to breadboard first. The Chugger site says those pumps run about 290 watts, though. I couldn't find any guidance on how much current a breadboard can handle, or the spacing between the conductors. I was able to find specs on track width/track spacing for the PCB with relative...

Been at the computer instead of the garage recently. One of the things I want to do is try controlling each pump output by phase-angle controlling the motor instead of putting a ball valve on the exit of the pump head. I recognize that, since our pumps are centrifugal, there's a good chance...

Slowly building a arduino controlled electric brewery

Sounds familiar. I'm (slowly) building a 30A three-vessel RIMS system. I'm going to get it brewing as simply as I can, and then continually add complexity and automation as budget & skill allows. I'm pretty time-limited as well, so my build is also going to be a long-term project. I'll be...

Help Deciding what what Hardware I want to learn (Arduino or RPi)

I'll join in the above recommendations. Start with the Arduino to get yourself brewing, add the RPi for a fancy interface later. Also, I backed the "UDOO" Kickstarter program. It's a merger of the two: a dual or qaud core RPi with an imbedded Arduino Due. They are due to ship in September.

Lincoln 180, regular 0.25 wire & 75/25. I'm pretty happy with the welds, once I beveled the edges some. Since I can't see the back sides of these welds, I practiced on the scraps for quite some time. My practice runs probably add up to three or four feet of actual bead, before I started...
