Prototype Previews: Hopback and Heat Stick

Hellz yeah!! I def like the idea of a larger hopback. I almost bought the 1.5 gallon hopback from Stout Tanks but I prefer your camlock desing better.

    Burner placement

You'll find user recomendations from 2"-6" but it more depends on the flow of gas and air/gas mixture. You'll see a lot of stands built with the capabilities of adjusting the buring up or down.

Prototype Previews: Hopback and Heat Stick

I like the compact design as well. Just looking for a 1-3lb hop addition option. That would probably cover up to 15 gallon batches.

Prototype Previews: Hopback and Heat Stick

Any thoughts about making a larger size hopback as well? I like your build over Morebeers or Stouttanks, but they have the size advantage.

    My new Tower of Power

I just got mine all hooked up, I tested the spark but haven't fired up the gas yet. I did notice the nice Asco Red hat valves being an upgrade from the originals. Good to know the support is good if I notice the same malfunction.

    First brew with water build

ajdelange, do you recommend postboil/boil additions? Last week was the first time I've read about boil additions of Gypsum to help with hop flavor/bitterness, or any additions added after the mash. I thought about using 4g CaSo4 and 2gCaCl in the mash and 2g CaSo4 and 1gCaCl in the boil. RO...

Gas and Temperature Control for Dummies

I have a MYPIN TA4. It works. The documentation sucks but there are enough threads that explain how it works. With that said, if I had the extra money to spend I would switch to Auber, they are just easier to work with.

    Water Profile after filtration?

I bought some Lactic acid and will give it a try this weekend. I can see why Palmer has worked on his Water book for so long, water chemistry is a pain in the ass.
