    When to add fruit

    In my blackberry melomel I added some of my fruit in primary, then the majority jn secondary. Maybe it will take longer to clear... But it takes time anyways.. What's the extra wait?

    And they rREALLY mean low and slow. It's very easy to overdo cooking the honey. It's a fine line between burnt and caramelized.

    I like the beer idea, however; I have yet to brew any beer. Perhaps someone in my area stumbles across this and wants to try, I'm welcome to share. In the meantime I will continue to let it sit and maybe improve.

    It's taste was what I was expecting, slightly sweet orange flavor. I based the recipe off of a ore mixed bottled screwdriver. So as fab as flavor and appearance goes... Spot on.. I'd like no bottle sediments of course.... And smelling like a marker is an obvious turnoff... But I used campden...

    So I made an orange wine using the same concept as any 'from concentrate' recipe. Got them bottled (with sediments unfortunately) and after a few months in the bottle, figured I'd pop one and see how they are going (in 12 oz bottles) Got one open and it smells horribly of magic marker...
