    MO Smash, kinda

I guess I was looking for the best grain to add a hint of color and mesh well with MO. Looks like any of the Crystals will be fine.

    MO Smash, kinda

I recently brewed an MO/Amarillo SMaSH and was very happy with the results. The MO gave the beer a nice bready, thicker taste than the very light color of the beer would suggest. I will be doing another MO SMaSH, perhaps with Cascade, but I would like to add a bit of color. I know it would...

Odell's Mountain Standard Double Blak IPA...Uck.

To each his own, and maybe you got a stinker, but IMHO Mountain Standard is one of the best new beers brewed in CO. Especially great on tap. I have seen it place #1 and #2 in local Colorado "best beers" articles.

    Denver CO trip

Cant miss Great Divide. Also add to the list Renegade and check out their peanut butter stout. On the way up to the slopes, stop in Silverthorne and stop by the Dam Brewery.

I didn't actually use any marshmallow, it was just a thought. They are pure sugar, so I presume they would just ferment out.

    Homebrew Contest Winners!

Thanks for posting that Kate. I can't figure out how to export from BeerSmith, seems there should be a way to get a recipe out of there. But anyway, here it is: 5 Gallons - Partial Mash 7 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) 8.0 oz Chocolate Malt 8.0 oz Biscuit Malt 1 lb Crystal 80 3 lb Amber Liquid Extract...

    AG vs. Partial mash question

Sure, it may be all in my head, but ever since I converted to AG my beers have improved greatly. I found that extract always produced a similar "tang" in all my beers, regardless of style. Of course, this could be brewer's error more than anything else.
