I decided to do a mini-mini mash with the steeping grains I got from my AHS kit and the temp during the mash was at about 165 for 5 or 6min. I was just curious how different temps affect the flavor of the final product? I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT RUINING THE BEER! Just thought I would throw that in.

Thanks for the info. I have all day, no hurry at all so I will do the mini-mini mash just to try the process. I think I'm going partial mash from now on for sure though. Deathbrewer made it look really easy.

The grains are 1lb Crystal and .5lb 2-Row. I know this isnt much, just thought I could get a little extra out of them.

I just went through Deathbrewers partial mash how-to and it seems a lot easier than I thought. I already ordered extract kits from AHS so a partial mash will happen next batch. One of the kits however came with 1lb of steeping grains. I was wondering if I could apply the same partial mash steps...
