    Bar build - Thanks All

A picture to show the cloudy issue.

Yeah, they missed step 1 in the instructions. The copper is a 36 gauge sheet and you glue it onto the wood. The mottled color is only on one side. It is either rip it out, or just put the new copper on top of the bad epoxy, after planing it down nice and level.

    Length of beer line

You will need to cool the lines or your beer will be foamy. I ran my lines 7.62m, 25ft, and went with a glycol pump and a trunk line to keep the lines cool. I have not had to increase the pressure by very much to push beer through the lines. I think I am around 15psi on straight CO2 and closer...

    Epic Boat Bar

I put similar ones under the glass on my liquor stand and you are right. It does get a bit cheesy. I usually leave them green but my kids, and a few neighbors, found the pattern that fades through 7 colors and I can't keep them from changing it to that now. :)

It was from Color Copper. I called them today and they had the owner call me back, after he had already left for the day. He explained that it was because the epoxy was not mixed, and poured, in a room that was at least 75F. He was extremely helpful and when he heard how much copper I was having...

Yet more issues. :( My contractors guys outdone the epoxy but it is cloudy. I am at a loss. They swear they followed all of the directions. Has anyone had an issue like this?

Yeah, I enjoy them both. Occasionally you just need an IPA!

    Bar build - Thanks All

Thanks guys. We had a slight setback this week. My subcontractor lost his employees. So no work this week unless my General Contractor can get a new Sub in. Either way, it is too late in the week to do the epoxy as it takes 72 hours to cure and I have plans for the bar this weekend.

    Bar build - Thanks All

The best part about it is sharing it with friends and neighbors. On Friday, the bus stop ladies invaded it after the bus dropped off the kids, which led to husbands appearing as the night went on. We all had a great time. Saturday we had a birthday party for two of my daughters and when it was...

Got most of the decorating done. Still needs epoxy and a couple more punch list items done.

    Epic Boat Bar

I know I am repeating myself but, that is the most amazing bar I have seen. I truly wish I lived closer.

    My ongoing basement bar build

Oh my god! I am do sorry to hear that. The beer gods seemed to be watching over the bar though. At least that is good. And thanks for the info on the corbels. I will look at them. I have some metal brackets holding it up right now.

I love the seating area. It really brings your bar to the next level.

    Bar build - Thanks All

Just about done. A few trim things to tomorrow and then the epoxy next week. Now if my ice maker and soda chiller would just behave! They are going to try to fix them tomorrow. So, here are a few pics, nearly complete.

    Bar build - Thanks All

I have to say that I find it a bit funny that some of you say you are jealous. Only because I am jealous of all of you who brew. One day, when I have more time, or less hobbies, I would love to learn how to do it. As is, between the kids and my motorcycles, I don't have many daylight hours to...

    Bar build - Thanks All

Thanks. Getting closer! It will be usable this weekend but they will finish it all next week.

    Bar build - Thanks All

Today was a big day. They painted most of the bar area, just not the bar itself. They put the bar rail on and got the first coat of lacquer on the copper. They will epoxy it all next week because it takes 3 days to cure and I have a party this weekend and we need the bar! The mirror was mounted...

    Bar build - Thanks All

My contractor wants to put a vent in the cabinet door where the soda chiller is. I bought one, made for a floor vent, but he thinks I should replace the inside frame of the door with a mesh panel. Do you think that is overkill?
