    Regulator Issues

I need some help on my regulator set up. I took my CO2 tank for a refill. Came home to hook it back up and when I turn it on, air blows out seemingly from the regulator/tank connection or around there. I have a suspicion that I may have lost a washer or O-ring when i took it off, but since this...

I brewed a favorite recipe today

I am definitely going to try this soon! Thanks for sharing. I just did what I'm calling a pseudo-SMASH beer with this exact method but a 5 gallon batch. 1 oz of Mighty Julius hops at beginning of 30 min boil, added another oz at 15 mins, topped off with 6lbs of Muntons light DME and more...

    Newbie with questions about spunding

I made a black IPA. Spunded in my corney keg after day 7 at around 20psi. I thought that was going to be too little, but it ended up being great. When I was asking some questions on this forum, alot of people recommended around 30psi. Again, i think i hit some dumb luck on this one. But I hope...

    Newbie with questions about spunding

I spunded my last batch and my beer has been pouring strong and carbonated for weeks now without a touch of co2. I had no idea what i was doing, so it might have been dumb luck, but I loved it. I will be brewing again within the next few weeks so in a month or so i will let you know how batch 2...

Pressure fermentation in the same keg that the beer gets served from.

Thought I would share a pic of my Black IPA using this method. Super happy with the results. Big thanks to everyone here. I have really enjoyed taking a lot of the advice on this board and its really gotten me into the hobby. My next beer is going to be a pseudo SMASH beer with Light DME and one...

Bottle Bombs - Why and How to Dispose?

I have nothing to add to this thread other than the fact that after I read it, it made me glad I moved to kegs. There is nothing I miss about bottling my beer other than being able to take it places easily. But now I don't even like to share so that problem is solved too :cask:

    Feeling defeated

I feel like I am there too. Maybe its just the excitement of pouring my own brew, but right now I enjoy my own beer way more than commercial beers including some really good microbrews that used to be my go-to. Is it freshness? Or is it just because its mine? Not sure... but right now a lot of...

Pressure fermentation in the same keg that the beer gets served from.

Had my first pour from my Black IPA using this method and I was very impressed. It could not have gone better. The beer was beautifully carbonated. Flavor was out of sight. I'm curious to how this holds up over the next 4 weeks or so still being on the trub, but if i don't see any off flavors, i...

    Spunding PSI

Standard 5 gal corny keg. They hold a bit more than that really and it was the perfect amount of space for fermentation actually. That being said, i don't aerate. I just give it a good mix. I did temp control a little low - around 63F, so maybe those things kept the fermentation from being out...

    Spunding PSI

I just did a full 5 gallon batch and didn't have one drop come through my blow off tube. There was plenty of headspace at least with the US-05 and i had good fermentation. The reason why i want to ferment and serve in the same keg is so i don't have to transfer. Less cleaning and less work. As...

    Spunding PSI

Thanks everyone! So if my psi is low, the only effect will be that i will need additional efforts from the co2 to get my beer carbonated correct?

    Spunding PSI

Background on this brew: I am fermenting and serving a black IPA in one keg. I used a blow off tube until day 7, which is when i added the spunding valve. My plan is to spund until fermentation is complete and i hook up to co2 and throw in the kegerator. Today is day 9 and the brew has been temp...

    Feeling defeated

What water are you using? I know very little about water chemistry, but what i have learned is what NOT to use. So as a newbie, i just stick with RO Water. But from what i have read on this forum, sometimes when brews have a consistent problem, you trace is back to the one constant - the water...

Pressure fermentation in the same keg that the beer gets served from.

I'm not exactly sure but i think the camera angle makes it look a little smaller. It isn't huge though. Once i figured out how to program the Inkbird, its worked perfectly though. This method has a lot less equipment which means a lot less cleaning. I'm pretty stoked to not have to transfer to a...

Pressure fermentation in the same keg that the beer gets served from.

Brewed my black IPA yesterday. Fermenting in the keg. Blow off tube going to a growler of Star San a little extra tupperware just in case. Also my first time controlling temps with my Inkbird and chest freezer and man, it is holding my temp steady as can be! I went with 63 degrees. Going to dry...

What size hose are you using to go over that post?

Pressure fermentation in the same keg that the beer gets served from.

Perfect timing, Odie. I'm planning on doing this on Sunday for the first time and would love some feedback. I'm doing a dry hopped black IPA. My plan: Have the gas post attached with a connector as well. Off of the connector, I will have tubing for a blow off tube going to a growler of Star San...
