    If a recipe calls for 4 gallons of water for the wort to be boiled in what happens when you only boil the wort in 2 gallons of water then add the rest in to the carboy?

    So i had to go out of town and my fruit fermented for 13 days im kegging it and its my first time kegging but it does not really have any resemblance of a hefe and is pretty bitter. What could that be?

    I bought 2 corny kegs today and When i see them purge out the c02 they have a little ring they tug on mine does not have anything like that so how do i purge the co2?

    Thanks Ryan and Yea I did more so then i thought i would. So I can cap and rebottle? That wont have and affect on the beer taste but can lower the carbonation levels?

    I also just realized something this was the batch I lost about 2 gallons of due to fermenting in a 5 gallon carboy. But i still used the same amount of priming sugar that is called for a 5 gallon batch. Is my beer just going to be over carbonated no matter what? And thanks for the quick replies...

    So I bottled my hefeweizen 10 days ago and decided to open one up smells incredible but when I poured it the bubbles never cease they just keep coming. And it reminds me of when you get soda out of the fountain and there is no soda left just carbonated water. Should i let it stay in the bottle...

    So what would be the outcome if you inverted the hops? Because thats what I did on accident. I did saaz in the beginning and at the end with halletauer at the 20 min mark.

    Man I had no idea about them before I brewed i put the full 5 gallons I would not suggest it at all I have atleast lost 1.5 gallons of beer its crazy how active it is.
