    Love Golf?

I haven't played in a long time, but I have been thinking about playign more this summer. But first I'm gonna get a set of better clubs. Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs just so my irons aren't always flying off the back swing

    Champagne Chicken

I've actually thought about that after the last 2 times I've made Parmesan Chicken. Only problem is there is usually not enough room in the pan as it is. If you keep the temperature low while the chicken is cooking in the finished sauce, it's not a problem. But there are times when I do want...

    I blame Forged in Fire...

I've got a 351Windsor for my Mustang. It's just about warm enough to pull the motor out where I can get at it and start the build process. It's still a bit cool for body work. I'm planning for the motor to be pretty much stock for now. Stock manifolds, cam, etc. New carb. Maybe when the...

    CBS vs KBS

Agree. This year's KBS seems even less sweet than normal to me. Granted, I've only had it on tap twice in from a bottle once. I have 3 bottles of CBS from this year and haven't cracked any of them open yet. One is supposed to be shared with my HB club, but I forgot to bring it to the meeting...

    Founders Solid Gold

Well, since you asked, I don't normally choose a light (pale) lager, but I have one sometimes. Generally it's Budweiser, Heineken, Labatt's, Red Stripe (although I don't care much for that, but if a friend is offering...) Sometimes PBR. I do like Miller and Stroh's, and the Michelob retro beer...

You put a Chevy 350 in a Cougar? Sacrilege! (Although the Chvey 350 IS a great motor!)

    I blame Forged in Fire...

I can't wait. My whole family watches and my oldest is even helping me build this, and she is not generally interested in my hobbies. Luckily there is a guy at work who has been doing this for a year or so, and got into it pretty heavy. He's a great resource for ideas. I'd like get a decent...

    I blame Forged in Fire...

Ordered some Kaowool insulating wool today. Found some 2" that should be plenty to line the inside of the forge. Also pricing some refractory cement to line it with. Once the wool is in place, I'll paint the cement over it to hold the fibers in place, and to give the IR coating something firm...

    Founders Solid Gold

I bought a 6-pack of cans. It's a premium lager. Really no different than pretty much any other premium lager, TBH. I have not price-compared, but I would have a hard time believing it's less expensive than the Big Boys' beers. For me, that style isn't a usual pick. I prefer many other...

    Cats

So this weekend Fuggles jumps right up on my desk while I am trying to play Warcraft with my buddies. Strangest thing. She's not really lovable in general, and I can't remember the last time either of the cats were on my desk (That I was aware of, anyway). I gave her a quick pet, deciding...

What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

Been listening to Ninja Sex Party lately. I'm not sure I can recommended it. They are similar to The Lonely Island, but maybe not as clever. They have a whole back story thing going. I do like their cover albums a bit. They do some fine recreations of some classic tunes. It's an homage to...

About Time I Up and Joined!

Welcome! I second the 5 gallon paint strainer recommendation! It's a very cheap way to get your feet wet with AG brewing. I am sure you will be amazed at how easy it really is, and BIAB really is an bonerfide method of brewing. The only real difference between that and a 3-vessel system is...

    What Up!

Even mashing at 155F should still get you down to 1.020 or so IMO. Especially on a mid-strength beer. Off the top of my head I think even English Ale yeast should not have way high residual sugars. I'd warm it up again and see what happens. IMO you would ideally want to keep your temps at...

Reduction of 2" SS to Copper for condenser

Where would be best to install a thermometer? I want to monitor temps, of course. I think I remember seeing them at the top of the column. Actually, if I use a rubber grommet and slip a thermometer in there, it could act as a relief valve too. It would be only snug enough to seal the vapor...

Reduction of 2" SS to Copper for condenser

Good info! There aren't any 90s. There is a 45 in the 1/2" as it comes down from the tri-clover. Also, I intend to both strain my wash AND install a pressure relief valve of some kind, likely off the column somewhere. Trust me, I'm highly aware of the possibility of overpressuring this thing!
