    Is this compression fitting safe?

I just looked at the three pieces more closely, and it appears that the bolt and compression fitting are regular SS. Hopefully that means I just need to get 1/2" Nuts to replace it. Although my tubes are already bent, which prevent me from slipping the nuts off... so I'll need to make new...

    Is this compression fitting safe?

Bloody hell. I have SS everything else too... Anyone in SE PA have a tube bender? Sounds like I have to order and make all new fittings

Jsguitat, thank you for the excellent information! Though not what I wanted to hear... Can anyone else chime in about these?

    Brewers Equipment Review

My condolences man, that sounds like a purchase story from hell. You aren't even in the clear yet, as reclaiming money can prove to be a real challenge. I imagine that if the guy does still frequent the forums, your post should garner enough attention to force his hand. I recently had a stand...

    Is this compression fitting safe?

Hmm.. I've currently got 6 of them that are supposed to be going into the keggles. Two each for the tubes in the BK and MLT, one for the HLT, and another as a convenient way to pull my Jaybird FB out. It's sounding like it might be worth switching them out then. Is there any way to remove...

    Is this compression fitting safe?

I had some welding done recently, and the guys hooked me up with a bunch of 1/2" SS compression fittings. As I worked with them, I began to notice some dark smudges rubbing off on my fingers from the compression nut. The body is definitely and obviously stainless, but the nut is a darker...

Denny Conn's Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Porter

From the man himself! Thanks. I've since found umpteen different write-ups on this recipe...brilliant! The best part is my girl is the one who wants to tweak the recipe and brew this one herself. I'm happy as can be! Cheers, and thanks! PS. Besides Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, are there...

Denny Conn's Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Porter

This is probably a dumb question, but where is the initial recipe?

Question for 10 gallon AG brewers, using a keggle MT

It's looking good so far! I'd love to see some more pictures once you have it set up.

    Micro Brewery's in the south

I just spent a year in Athens, and can recommend two places for you. They are both craft beer bars, and are well worth it. Trappeze pub has 26 taps and 250+ bottles and is easily one of the better craft beer bars on the East Coast. Next up would be Aromas, in 5 points. It's the bar side of...

Question for 10 gallon AG brewers, using a keggle MT

That sir, is a beautiful setup. The FB looks great! Why do you have both valves on the same level? Do you recirculate? If so, wouldn't you want the other valve higher up? To clarify, I've got the 15" Jaybird FB ready to install in my MT. Dip tube is being bent into shape this weekend!

Question for 10 gallon AG brewers, using a keggle MT

With about 20-24lbs of grain with mash water, how high is your fill line? I'm trying to decide the optimal location of my MT center thermometer. And a side request; how did people build a thermometer into the outlet valve of their recirculating direct fire MTs? As always, many thanks...

    Micro Brewery's in the south

New brewery there called NOLA, and I highly recommend them. I normally am never impressed by blonde ales, and they made the best I've ever had. Their dry Irish stout is pretty fantastic too!

    Didn't activate yeast

That sounds like Nottingham yeast. It's best to hydrate it as described, but it should be totally fine. I bet when you wake up, your beer will be happily bubbling away.

    Is this a CO2 manifold?

What was the original point of the plugs? There are no chamber separations from one valve opening to another.

    Is this a CO2 manifold?

It looks like one, though I would probably have to switch the nozzles out for a more standard tube nipple. How does turning the small bolts affect the flow rate? If it's not for Co2, then what the hell is it?

    Water Filter Setup

Thanks for the response! I ended up getting the swivel for that reason. What do people use for creating a hanger piece to attach it to a keggle?
