    stainless steel prep table

That's a good idea. if I stay here long enough, I'll find a way. Until then, no more sanitizing a kitchen just to bottle! Woohoo

    stainless steel prep table

laundromat....there is a laundry room(closet) upstairs, but I'm fresh out of school working my first "real" job(just 6 months in). I like to spend my money on important things like beer, my CNC machine and my motorcycles. Washer/dryers are things of luxury. :-)

    stainless steel prep table

That's what the guy I bought it from said. He was older (75 I think it what he said) and just wanted it gone. Son brought it back from the Navy lol. Jsguitar: nice set up! I would like to build a semi auto system, but I don't have a way to vent steam from my basement - since I rent, I can't...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I have added more grain actually (see blog for Chocolate maple porter) and it worked great. 50% is a little low though, I would like to at least hit 70 ish. Grain is cheap, but might as well try to save some.

Haha, that's why I got it without knowing it would fit down my basement stairs! Hardly fit in my Subaru.....

    stainless steel prep table

I was worried I wouldn't get it into my basement, so I put it on craigslist. But it all worked out so I get to keep it. Not sure how I'm going to get it out when I move though.... (I live in a rental duplex)

I've been at 50% using my diy mash tun. This round I tried a finer grind, (corona mill) so next time I'll try heavier. Will see! I'm hoping the table will allow me to t rack secondaries, grind grain, and bottle all in one place. This way I'm not running up and down stairs to use the kitchen. :-)

    stainless steel prep table

Picked up a stainless table at a yard sale last week for $25! Now I can set up and organize my basement prep area. (measuring grain, racking bottling etc)

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

brewed a Belgian blonde (ish). A little low on my og, and barely hit 1 gallon...lame. But I'll post it on my blog later. Oh and check out the new addition, a stainless steel prep table! $25, but it was a bear to get into my basement.

"Oh, I don't like dark beer"

    (1) is perfect, probably opening a big can if worms, but I'm interested in responses. Scientifically speaking, it is possible that someone could find it impossible to like ANY dark porter or stout. I believe the term is "super taster" but this makes someone ultra sensitive to flavor and often...

"Oh, I don't like dark beer"

No, it was the "pink" wines because they are neither red nor white. it's possible that I have it wrong as I have only listened to him describe this section, I do not have the book....yet.

"Oh, I don't like dark beer"

Nice, that's why I drink white zinfandel. :-) In the words of the great John Hodgmen "Rosea wine is the ambiguous wine for ambiguous people" (or something like that)

Because some water contains different chemicals such as "chloramine" (not chlorine) that makes beer taste like a band aid. Bottled water allows a higher level of constancy, I personally use tap water. Tastes fine, if I decide it doesn't taste fine, I'll start using bottled. :-)

I like the idea of adding the recipe, add a little content while still focusing on tasting, and linking back. Hmmm

"Oh, I don't like dark beer"

Funny thing happened last week, my dad came over and wanted to try a homebrew. After telling him I had some pale ales he goes "oh....I don't really like that kind, I only like dark beers..." Needless to say, I scrounged up an oktoberfest but I thought it was kinda funny.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

It used to take forever and a day, but I was pretty much just setting the pot in cold water.... This past brew, I planned ahead and saved ice for a few days, collecting a full gallon zip lock full...took maybe 10 minutes. It goes faster if you stir the wort as it chills. This keeps the hot wort...

I think I will just go back and add "updates" A post on a single beer tasting would be a little short, and this way they stick together I guess.

Ah, well today I cracked openmy blonde ale, it was fantastic! Of course, as we all(small batch brewers) know, I only have 8 more left...... Guess I better get brewing!

How do you all add your tasting notes on your blog? Do you just add an "edit" to the brew day post, or add another post entirely? I'm thinking about just sticking with adding to my brew day post to keep everything together.

I have that book as well, but I guess the idea is that you get started quickly and easily. I try to focus on making my process better, not on nitty gritty details like that. (but that's me, I'm not trying to win awards.....yet)
