I plugged it into my app (BrewR - Android app) and was able to work with the fuggles. I will probably use them (since I have them, a little bag goes a long ways in 1 gallon brews). I'll keep everyone posted!

I usually use both. But the last two batches I was lazy and just left the blow off tube on until bottle time

My stainless pot came from Walmart, $12 I think. I wish I had gotten the smaller one...but it liked smaller in the store. :-) I think I might do a 2 gallon batch and split it. maybe try dry hopping for one...dunno about the other. For dry hopping, we add the hops after the krausen peaks right?

Lol, that's what I've been doing. I just figured there is an app where you plug in your pantry and it makes dinner recipe suggestions, so why not one for beer. :-)

I can hardly keep up with this thread anymore.... I just meant in general, I already have some ideas in queue for now. Basically I have 20 lbs of pilsner and 2 row with a variety of caramel malts, victory, chocolate, and some others I can't think of off hand.

Agreed! My diy MLT made from a 2 gallon cooler and a stainless braided tube inside for the filter. My "stainless" washers are severely corroded...I don't think they are actually stainless.... Also only get about 50% efficiency no matter what I do. But it's handy none the less!

People like that just want to argue. I just ignore them, it's the only way to win....

Caps came with holes in them. Pretty sure they are available at any hbs.
