Which potentiometer do I need for a stir plate?

I actually ordered 3/4" rare earth discs accidentally, and when flipped one side up N and the other up S the sides of the discs attract and hold together, so I guess that would have helped making sure they are the right distance apart from center. Anyway, it works for both my 1" and 2" bar...

Which potentiometer do I need for a stir plate?

I feel like I went through ten revisions of my stir plate before I got it all set correctly. Are you using hard drive magnets?? It is a million times easier to center a stir bar on a couple of disc magnets (that stir starter site has the type he was using, which I'm not affiliated with in any...

Which potentiometer do I need for a stir plate?

I can't post a link but look at stirstarters.com He has a DIY page that shows the proper way to use a potentiometer to control the fan speed...I've heard people complain that it can catch fire potentially if used to dissipate too much current for too long...with that being said I didn't do it...

    Carbonation Function

Interesting, thanks for your input!! I understand it would not be a very easy or linear formula with lots of variables, but I'm a pretty mathy guy ;) and I thought I'd be able to model it, if for no other reason than to produce the same carbonation charts, for times = 12hr, 24, 36, 48hr, etc...

    Carbonation Function

So I keep reading that carbonation levels are a function of temperature, pressure, and time. Every chart I see illustrates the limit of carbonation levels for a given pressure/temperature, assuming you give it time to equalize... My question is either 1) where can I find a chart that shows...

Hop debris in Keg, would gelatin help?

Hi all, I have an IIPA that I made a few months back, I cold crashed in in the secondary after dry hopping for 2 weeks and then racked to a keg and it's been sitting in my keezer for about 3 weeks. I've pulled maybe 7-8 pints off the keg so far, with all of them being pretty cloudy with visible...

"D" Pump tap for use in keezer?

Thanks for the response, I don't see why it shouldn't work either, but I figured I would ask to see if anyone else had done it. It's a pretty old keg tap that I inherited probably a decade ago, and it hasn't seen much use as of late...I figured if it could work for this it would be cool.

"D" Pump tap for use in keezer?

Hi all, Stupid question I am sure, but I have an old pump style keg tap from college, would I be able to pull the pump and the cobra head off the "D" type connector and then connect the "D" connector to a CO2 line in my keezer and a beer line to my tap?? I'm sure I'll have to clean it...

    Kegging Calculations

Thanks all for your input, I agree with JuanMoore, I liked the intricacy of your spreadsheet. I'm a quant by day and its always cool to see the complicated side of something I dont understand. So in all I need to add 2.75psi while carbing to adjust for altitude, make my beer line about 15ish...

    Kegging Calculations

Hi all, This is my first time kegging and I want to make sure i'm doing my line length and serving pressure calculations correctly, and i'm accounting for altitude if needed (as i live around 5500ft). I understand how to determine my carbonating pressure to achieve a specific CO2/volume...
