Wanted: Pipeline Porter All Grain Recipe

Hey all, Anyone ever had Kona Brewing Co.'s Pipeline Porter? The stuff is awesome. I was just curious if anyone had a good recipe for the stuff. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a coffee porter that's just awesome. This is how they describe it: "Pipeline Porter is dark...

What is the best way to weigh your grains?

I don't have a scale or grain crusher yet but I would think an easy way to measure out grain accurately would be a simple kitchen scale that measures grams/ounces/pounds. I haven't gotten that far into AG yet so I haven't had to think of that. As for grains on hand I would think a start...

Wanted: Pipeline Porter All Grain Recipe

Thanks guys! Now if we can only come up with a recipe. LOL I have a book that may help give some input on putting my two favorite beverages together into one... I might just have to try brewing up my own concoction.

    Unknown mega hop harvest

From what I gather hops are very difficult to identify. They look similar to a herloom variety that I have growing. I would reccomend tasting them as well. You should be able to determine a good idea of whether they are a bittering hop or an aroma hop by how bitter they taste. I would taste...

    Rhizome Exchange Anyone?

Hey All, I have perused many different forumns for many different topics over the years and have noticed that some of the gardening forums have exchanges where you can exchange different varieties of plants. I think it would be an awesome way for us to exchange our precious hops. It sure...

    hop growing up north

We grow hops just fine down in Montana. Here we have to pick ours in about mid September early October. I know there though it's much colder sooner and your photoperiod is different. If you can find a variety that matures early you'll do fine.

    No yeast activity...HELP!!!

I'm experiencing similar problems with my Wee Heavy batch right now. Although with me I pitched my yeast 4 days ago, they started off like hot cakes with tons of activity and a thick layer of Krausen on the surface (after 24 hours) and now they are not bubbling at all and the Krausen has...

    Apartment brewers unite!

I am also an apartment brewer. I do everything on the stove top as of right now. I'll probably end up getting a propane burner and doing things that way. But it gets a wee bit chilly here in the wintertime so it would make it a bit difficult to brew during the winter months. The girlfriend...

(Wee Heavy) When to transfer to secondary fermenter?

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I'm being paitent. I have noticed the action of the fermintation slowing down but it is still bubbling at about a bubble per every 9 seconds. I'm just going to relax and probably move to a secondary after Thanksgiving. Cheers!! Joe
