    Rhizome Exchange Anyone?

Thanks again all who have participated. Please let me know how this worked out. Maybe they can sticky this if it worked well. I will be getting some new known strains here right quick. Unfortunately I won't be able to get anything in the ground until June due to the frozen ground around...

    Electric Brew Kettles

Thanks guys for the advice. I think in my situation for now... I'm just going to keep brewing the way I am brewing and do the e kettle thing when I get a new pad. Cheers :mug:, Joe

    Electric Brew Kettles

That burner setup looks interesting. Our stove is older than dirt though. I can't find the model number on it anywhere. I'd need that to be sure the burner would fit. Otherwise that's definitely a good option. (I'm still considering that...) I've found a 220 Volt 15 gallon e kettle for...

    Electric Brew Kettles

Well the power in my apartment is 20 amp. I'd like to keep things as simple as possible since I am renting this place. I can't do a whole lot of modifications. I may be stuck using the two pot system during the winter and getting a turkey fryer for the warmer months. I've thought about...

    Electric Brew Kettles

Hi all, I am an apartment brewer looking to purchase a bigger kettle. Right now I am brewing my beer in two different kettles and splitting my hops up. It's a giant pain in the butt but it works (kind of). I'm finding that it is hard to determine exactly how much wort I need to boil to make...

    Container Hop growing question

Hi bud, Their is a great article on this in this months edition of BYO (Brew Your Own). I'm going to try container gardening this summer. I hear that the ryhizomes really need a huge amount of space. BYO suggests The following -- Use at least a 20" pot Thoroughly drench your plants...

    How do you make soda?

Anyone have any good non-extract root beer recipes? I made one the traditional way already but the flavor is slightly off. I used sasspirilla bark, dried sassafras root bark, and wintergreen leaves as the primary flavoring in mine. Cheers :mug:, Joe

    Mead Making Books

I have decided that it is in due time before I make a mead. I just had the pleasure of trying one and I really like it. Not to mention the fact that Meade is a family name. Both good reasons to start making mead. (Not to mention I brew all grain beer already so I have the needed equipment...)...

    Rhizome Exchange Anyone?

Awesome Steve!! We'll keep this list growing. I think if we give this thing a month or so people are going to really start thinking about this seasons garden. Stay with it and hopefully something will come about for you. Otherwise I'm sure people will be interested in trading / buying what...

Splenda/Honey/Sugar + Rainbow Root beer results

The sell the Stevia sugar substitue now in the grocery store. It's marketed under the name Truvia. It's very comparable in flavor as Splenda only without the chlorine. Be forewarned, it's one h*** of a lot sweeter. Cheers, Joe :mug:

She was a damned fine heavy. I've almost completely drank this one. It used the finest herloom hops.

This baby works pretty nice and it's easy to make. Just make sure to test it prior to use. If ANY leaks are present, redo your fittings. I had one break on me and it cost me a second degree burn.
