I did sway(roll on it's bottom) the carboy around a few times throughout the first week of fermentation to get more activity going.

Awesome! Thanks for all the advise! I only pitched the yeast that was included in the kit. So, apparently, the trick to upping the ABV is to add additional yeast? I think I'll ride this brew out as is and live and learn from it. Going to bottle it up this weekend and let it condition...
