Yeah it's 10-12oz for dry hops on my typical DIPA. My hot side amounts would be around the same as you.

I did it your way for a few brews and had the exact same concerns so I switched to opening the purged keg, dump the hops in and purge some more like the process Hops are Good set out. That's an option alright but I'm not really a fan of single hopped beers. Find them too one dimensional. I'm doing a Citra one at the moment but using T-90, Lupomax, Incognito and Spectrum so hopefully will have different layers of flavor.
