British Golden Ale Miraculix Best - Classic English Ale

Makes sense. I have gas (no pun intended). Very easy to control output.

British Golden Ale Miraculix Best - Classic English Ale

Next time use the thinnest gauge metal pot you have. I made invert once with a heavy cast iron enameled pot (Le Creuset sp?) and had the same problem with controlling the heat. Now I use the thinnest pot I have, you know, the ones with the copper on the bottom. Much easier to hold and control...

British Golden Ale Miraculix Best - Classic English Ale

Personally, I'd go for organic cane sugar or turbinado only because it doesn't impart much flavor like Lyle's golden syrup. I find it adds too much toffee to my liking.

Looking to get a used smoker & need advise please.

I have an electric smoker, this one - http://www.cookshack.com/SM025_5 However, I bought mine a few years ago and dropped 600.00 on it. Best smoker I've ever had. It's basically an easy bake oven for adults. I follow the recipe book that came with it when it comes to the amount of wood chunks...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

I made 3 lbs of invert 1 last night as a matter of fact. The one on the right has some golden barrel molasses via the dilution method per the unholymess site for invert 3. Brewing a 1953 Adnams Tally Ho Barleywine from SUABP next weekend which calls for the invert 3...

    Wet shaving thread.

How did I miss this thread. I'm a Merker Safety razor with Astra blades guy. Flawless shaves with no nicks what so ever. I love the Astra's. I bought a big sleeve a few years back and have not even come close to going through 1/4 of it. Not a fan of Feathers. My go to soap is an Arco stick...

Why is it so hard to find good commercially produced mead?

https://www.hiddenlegendwinery.com/ I've bought a few from these guys and really liked all that I tried. Ones that stand out where the dark cherry and dark mead.

Lambic (BOS, 3rd BOS and Two Golds)

My post in November 2016 - "I'm about ready in an hour or so to pitch a slurry of Cascade Blueberry dregs, 2010 Mariage Parfait dregs and Wyeast 3278 on a 5 gallon batch started with US-05, then wait a year." Bottled to be still or flat in the spring of 2018. The combo of Cascade, Mariage and...

    Feedback on local bottled water

https://buhlwater.weebly.com/about.html Been using this with RO for my lagers and want feedback on the specifics on the mineral content etc. I'm curious what people have to say about the mineral content and if it's acceptable for lagers or ales. I assume it is because of my results. My lagers...

My driveway is atrocious. Fortunately, my roof is not that bad, no need for the roof rake! I'm 54 and can't remember this much snow in a long while. '91 comes to mind mostly.
