One time I dropped the O-ring form the fermenting bucket (where the bubbler goes into) into the wort. Not having another one. I sprayed my entire arm down with Star-san. then reached down into the the bucket and felt around for the O-ring and got it out. Beer turned out fine.

I have never had consistent success with an autosiphone. I find the best way to start a siphon is to fill your racking cane and tubing with star-san, clamp one end, then dip it in the fermentor, release the clamp and let it rip.

My very 1swt all grain I did had that medicine / band-aide taste. A guy in the homebrew club suggested using campdne tablets to neutralize the chlorine / chloramines in the city water. Hasn't been a problem since.

It's moving in the direction of wine. They sell $100+ bottles of wine because people will buy them.

The keg will not collapse as you dispense beer. When the pressure is too low to push beer, it will simply stop flowing. It is not going to flow out and then create a vacuum. Thought the CO2 cartridges will help with dispensing.

I typically roast the oats for an oatmeal stout. But only because I can't buy them roasted.

I have seen this before and I think it's air and not CO2. When it happened to me, air was being pulled into the beverage line. Mine was the little ferule between the pin-lock connector and the hose. Between pulls form the keg, I would see small bubbles getting into the beverage line. Pressure...
