K type thermal couple and auber syl-2352

Bf I am running the same controller and doing a setup similar to Kal's. I am running K - type thermocouples as well and have had similar troubles. I might switch over to a single rtd to test the differences out.

Extra Keg /Keggles for Sale $150

llamabox, it looks like you already found Belmont Party Supply. You should check out LHBC Dayton Draft - http://www.daytondraft.org/meetings/. I'll be at January's Meeting. Let me know if you wanna cut the top/wld some fittings on the keg you already have.

Extra Keg /Keggles for Sale $150

Fellas, I based the pricing off of what some "pro" vendors were doing (Single Coupler - $175). I am also offering to weld in other couplers at what I think are pretty reasonable prices for a full sanitary weld. I have received a couple of other inquiries and have quoted additional couplers...

Extra Keg /Keggles for Sale $150

I recently came in to a number of kegs in my attempts to build my homebrew single tier all-electric rig. I only needed three, but figured the additional kegs could be used for brewing by fellow homebrewers. I have 6 kegs remaining from various brands. On the keg you see here I have welded a...

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Easy Chimay Blue clone

Once again FAttyLiver's recipe is great. About a month ago I did a 10 gallon batch since this recipe has proven so good. No problems stepping this recipe up by simply doubling the ingredients.

Pulling a hole for tri-clamp fitting

dmfa200, I just posted about doing something very similar with 1/2 couplers. I am now thinking about trying out with tri clamps so your post is very helpful! PS What kind of keg is this? Did you weld those together too?

Converting to welded couplers on keggle

GreenMonti, I have been following a number of threads related to welding kegs and found your stuff very helpful! The key for me was to get a good back purge assembly (see below). I used a stainless utensil holder (found at cafeteria's) and trimmed this down with an angle grinder. I then...

    Ask Your Welding Questions Here!!!

I am working on my electric brewery setup and luckily have a nice Lincoln Precision Tig 185. I am getting really good welds on the outsides of my keg, but am still getting a bit of sugaring on the insides. I am backpurging but have not been sealing the purge setup with tape. I was using...

Lil Sparky, can I ask where you got the mesh bag for this setup?

Ancho Chili Porter - Please Critique

I simply say that the final recipe that I did of this turned out amazing. I used 2 ozs of ancho chiles. I used only the fleshy parts of the peppers. I seperated out the seeds and used about a teaspoon of the remaining seeds, these are the hot part. The final beer has the smoky flavor of the...

"polishing your keg" is more than a clever euphemism

Bobby, I followed your directions and things went great. Needless to say I will not be polishing the other keg since its my brother in laws. Please note, this is nothing but hard work (even with an angle grinder). I have about 5 hours logged on the one you see here. Patience with the fine...

Brutus 20 Constant Recirculation Direct Fired Mash Process Review

There has been talk of this setup not being able to do high gravity beers. I am a big fan of belgian ales and typically brew 1.080-1.110 beers using extract right now. I am considering moving to all grain and am wondering if this setup would be able to handle these higher gravities without...

    Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale

One other quick question. I have 3 oz of heavy toast american oak sitting in about 1 cup of bourbon. Guy at the homebrew shop suggested only adding the soaked chips and discarding the bourbon that remained, and said to add fresh bourbon. Any thoughts on what to do?

Ancho Chili Porter - Please Critique

Chef, I just had some ancho/cayenne chocolate ice cream the other day and really want to make a beer like this. I am just curious how things turned out?

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Easy Chimay Blue clone

I recommend fattyliver's recipe it is spot on ;-)! https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f71/easy-chimay-blue-clone-73965/index7.html#post2885789 I am running a kegerator so carbonation is easily taken care of. Priming sugar amount seems reasonable.
