    Bottling Temps

Hard to say how much longer it would take at 60 rather then 70, I would say definitely at least another week up to maybe three extra weeks. What yeast did you use?

    Bottling Temps

Depending on your yeasts temp threshold which 60 should be fine (a little on the low side) the bottles will carbonate it will just take a longer period of time. If you have the money to hear your area I would go ahead and do it but if not you will still get carbonated beer it will just take longer

    Knowing what beer is!

I'm right there with you. Now I can't drink just any beer, instead of 7 bucks for a sixer I'm paying 12 for a 4 pack of quality beer until my pipeline is established. Very dangerous dark black hole this brewing addiction creates

    I have Sinned

As long as we are airing our dirty little secrets... I drank keystone light the other day. Was working on my buddies car with him and need a refreshment and all he had was keystone and so I did imbibe, but... I didn't inhale it, I mean enjoy it. I felt dirty afterwards so I stopped on the way...

Trouble getting filling all bottles from Coopers fermenter

I cold crashed my fermenter for three days in a icewater bath and my last bottle I tilted the keg in order to get all of it out. got a good amount of sediment I just marked it and used it as an experimental bottle to see what it tasted like with extra sediment inside. all the rest of the brews...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Yes, my local LHBS sells brewferm which makes 9qt batches. They are usually better quality and higher abv if u are looking for that kind of thing.

How many primaries do you have?

Well I just got out of the military and I am a stay at home dad for the time being and all kids are in school during the day so aside from cleaning the house for SWMBO, PS3, and passively looking for a job I have lots of free time

What did you learn this week?

I learned that this addiction is never ending and that there is always new gadget/ equipment that will catch your eye

Floating Sediment in my first batch

I definitely recommend cold crashing for a minimum of the last three days. I place mine in an ice water bath in a cooler and refresh ice as needed. The majority of sediment will drop to the bottom and be cemented there so that you can move to bottling with limited amount of sediment transfer.

    Fermentation Is Slowing Down

+1 on the buying another bucket to start another batch, you want 2-3 weeks primary fermentation. If you move it now chances are that your beer is still fermenting. I enjoyed taking a hydrometer testing at one week to see how quickly the yeast attenuated and to get an early sample on the beer...
  12. timduncan200021

First brew went great, but I went wrong.

34 hours is relatively quick to take a hydrometer sample, I would say maybe after a week, but usually it's best to leave them in 2-3 weeks in primary so that even if the beer is done fermenting the yeast can clean up after itself and if your temps were a little high and the yeast produced a...

How many primaries do you have?

I do plan on doing a golden monkey clone, a westmalle tripel and a la fin du monde clone all Belgian tripels that benefit from extended fermenting and conditioning. So maybe I will get some secondaries. Is it better to batch condition with Belgian tripel/ belgian strong golden ales or bottle...

How many primaries do you have?

I haven't even put any secondaries on my wish list. I know that this is opening a can of worms but is it worth having one secondary just in case?

    Cooper beer enhancer

The mr beer cans by themselves are relatively weak/low in fermentables and it is not uncommon for them to finish up relatively fast depending on how fresh your yeast pack you got was. What a lot of people including myself tend to do with those mr beer kits is to add a lb of DME which ups the...

Any other recent/to be new Dads?

I just did my first brew in a mr beer set up. I have a 16 yr old a 6 yr old and a 5 yr old. It was very adventurous not because of any brewing mistakes but because of that small 2-3 hr window of opportunity that I left my kids to even touch my beer they did. Here is the link...

    Equipment list, anything missing?

I am probably wrong but I'm just going off of the partial mash/BIAB sticky https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/easy-partial-mash-brewing-pics-75231/ In his method he only uses two 5 gallon pots one of them with 2-3 gallons water for mashing about (1.25 qts per lb of grain) and another with 2-3...
