    60 qt pot on ebay

I received my 60 quart pot and did a full boil extract, 5 gallons. It worked well, although a little scortched on the bottom from my propane burner. However, my extract did not burn at the bottom of the pot, so that's good. I was able to lift it and pour it into my fermentor with relative ease...

    Full vs. Partial Boil Question

I asked a similar question earlier this week, and I will be making it sometime next week. I converted it through Beersmith v2 and here are the approximate values for a full boil. 0.46 oz at 60 min 0.46 oz at 20 min 0.91 oz at 5 min However, I wanted to increase the IBU, so I plan on doing...

When is my brew ready to bottle

I take a sample using a Turkey baster, but that's mainly because I use a glass carboy. I found this on John Palmer's How to Brew website: "Beginning brewers often make the mistake of checking the gravity too frequently. Every time you open the fermenter, you are risking infection from...

    60 qt pot on ebay

The pictures were helpful. I purchased one and it will probably be here by the end of next week. I plan on doing a full boil extract and also the BIAB method so I can post my thoughts after I'm done brewing. I'm sure it will be relisted again on ebay, since there are more than 10 available.

    60 qt pot on ebay

Mrott, thanks for your comments regarding the pot, sounds like you got a good deal. Thanks for the advice re: communicating directly with the guy. I'll probably end up picking one up before the auction ends.

    60 qt pot on ebay

I found this and it seemed like a good deal. $60 for a 15 gallon aluminum pot, including a top and strainer (possibly for use with BIAB). Estimated dimensions: 15 1/2" H x 16" W http://cgi.ebay.com/60-qt-ALUM-COOKING-POT-w-STRAINER-/140585299824?pt=Cookware&hash=item20bb896f70 Any thoughts?

    Tap-a-draft

I picked up a tap a draft conversion system on ebay and I'm planning on using it with the Miller/Coors home draft system. Since my beer is not quite ready, I've ran some leakage tests with water and so far so good. I'm excited to use it with my beer. I also purchased a 3 liter soda bottle from...

    Dead Ringer IPA Full Boil

Excellent, I love hoppy beers. After I make this one (and my scotch ale), I will look for the hoppiest recipe I can find.

    Dead Ringer IPA Full Boil

Thanks for the advice. According to the partial boil instructions, the hops are added to a 2.5 gallon boil.

    Dead Ringer IPA Full Boil

I have brewed six extract kits using partial boil and I would like to try the full boil extract method (5 gallons). I have been reading through the forum, but I would like some advice/clarification to some of my questions. FYI, I'm still learning the terminology for homebrewing, so I apologize...
