    My E-HERMS Build - LOTS OF PICS

    used the trub filter on 4 batches so far. only had an issue with an ipa. used alot of pellet hops 8+ oz. probably will use whole hops for ipas in the future. priming with pump after the filter is a bit tricker..just seems to take longer to get a steady flow out of the filter.

    HERMS users, how to return wort in mash tun?

    i have silicon hose laying on top of the grain bed. 90%+ efficiency with this method. In my opinion, any more complicated sparge method is overkill.

    Correct. One in HLT output. One in mlt output (as it leaves the mlt, before entering the herms coil) It was pretty cold here on that brew....so I think I am loosing temp through hoses and poor insulation. I've also noticed that I have to really stir after dough in. Way more than I ever...

    Water Filtration System

    Is that a regular garden hose? I was getting horrible off tastes from my garden hose. Went to a potable water hose.

    I use a hair dryer on low. Works awesome and runs very rarely. Controlled by a Johnson 419.
