the house never smelt so good!

We ended up with a FG of 1.020 and bottled up the carabou today. Very light at 4% abv, so we dry hopped in the secondary for 7days with .5oz US Williamette. It did add a nice aromatic quality to the beer. Better than I expected it to turn out.

    mash tun se tup reccomendatios

Interesting method! I do have a 26"x26" grain bag that will come up to the top of my mash tun cooler. I was even considering using my cooler for a HLT and mashing in my 10gal brew pot. My thought behind that was being able to perform decoction mashing methods and mashout. I'm just starting out...

ok, Mike Karnowski recommends fly sparging in 10gal cooler with a false bottom so that it is. Gotta respect!

    mash tun se tup reccomendatios

I decided to make the move from extract to all grain, and I would like to pick your brains to develop my set up. I have a 10gal igloo cooler (yellow and red commercial model) and a 10gal megapot with bulkhead and thermometer. Batch sparging makes the most sense to me with the equipment I have...

    so I under pitched...

Ok thanks ncbrewer. I added all the DME to my boil kettle with my grain tea and proceeded to boil 5.75gal total volume for 45 min during hop schedule. With 15 min remaining I added all LME, late hop additions and wort chiller. I was able to chill wort to 78F in 22min. Do you think I should...

    so I under pitched...

I hate the fact that I may have screwed this one up! Live and learn, it is then. It's crazy, because the NB directions say to incubate yeast a few days before brewing. They also say to "add yeast once the temp of the wort is 78F or lower". I did question the pitching temp when reading the...

    so I under pitched...

Hello guys, I have a concern with my freshly brewed NB smoke bomb porter kit. I brewed this last night. Target O.G. 1.066. I came in at 1.070. I changed the procedure slightly, from the kit directions. After steeping my specialty grains(1.5qrts per#) at 170 for 30 min, I rinsed the grains with 1...

the house never smelt so good!

Hello my name is Demetrios and i'm from NJ. I finally made the plunge into home brewing. My girlfriend and I decided to split an early Christmas present and buy some quality brewing equipment. Our intentions are to experiment with extract then hop into all grain brewing. So far we brewed caribou...
