Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

I don't currently have the equipment to do this so I need to prime each. Will try 3/4 teaspoons for next. How can I tell if the caps are leaking?

Bottles are stored at about 68. The fermometer is yellow. Not green so it's a little low I figured. Used the yeast that came with it

I did quick research for the amount. Don't remember exactly where I came up with it but it was bottling day and I completely forgot about looking into it so I was rushed. Lesson learned. What is recommended for 12oz bottles with corn sugar. I actually went to a calculator and put in winter ale...

12oz bottles. So what can I do? Open them and add more sugar or drink them flat? I also have four of them in the plastic liter bottles. I can see how those have carbed. I used 2 teaspoons on those. Am I too low on the priming sugar?

I bottled a winter dark ale on 2/10. Tried one today, it has no head. I had a nice crisp sound when I popped the cap, but definitely not carbed enough yet. I only used 1/2 teaspoon of corn sugar for priming, I know it was low, but can't change that now. My question is, do I just leave it for...

I would say around 67. I have the fermometer and its not a green check mark, a yellowish one so its a little on the low side I think. Yeast that came with the kit.

Octoberfest plus booster I started this on 2/12. OG was 1.046. I tested SG tonight and its 1.018. Seems way off still!! Also tastes awfully sweet. Is my fermenting temp too low? Will more time help bring down the SG if it is a little cool?

Oxy worked awesome!! Capper worked awesome too. Let the conditioning commence. :) Question, I wasn't sure what to use for priming sugar on the 12oz. I did quick research and found 1/2 teaspoon. That is what I used but mr beer says 2 1/2 teaspoons for the liter bottles. Also read to use 2...

Getting ready to bottle my first batch with glass bottles. I have 12 fat tire and 12 Sam Adams bottles. I rinsed them after I drank them, they have been sitting in the garage since. What is my next step? I have oxiclean. Figured set up a bucket full of that (how much oxi per gallon of water?)...

I had the same issue. First one was flat so I knew it wasn't carbed yet. So I left them another 2 weeks conditioning. It then was better but still had the sweet taste. Great head, but just a little off taste yet. I only fermented for the 7 days in the mr beer directions (have now learned to let...

Getting ready for brew #2. Mr beer winter dark ale. Question is, during fermentation is it ok to have a temp fluctuation from 65-72 daily? I have an auto thermostat and have it cool down during the day and at night.

Noob looking for advice on yeast. Is it ok to use the yeast that comes with mr beer kit? I've heard that you should get "new" yeast but have also heard it won't have that much of an affect. Just wondering if it will have a large affect or not. Also, what is the best way to add the yeast...

Alright here's my dilemma. I got the mr beer kit for an early Xmas present. I fermented for about a week and a half. I did not have a hydrometer at that time (I do now tho for the next batch!), but there was a good layer of sediment on the bottom. I bottled per instructions. Conditioned for 8...
