    Mold? Salvagable?

We used several different types of agar and temperatures to test and see which was the best for the growth of mold, certain bacterias, fungi grow best in. We also had to test an unknown using all the techniques we learned over the semester which was pretty cool. Of course all the microbes we...

    Mold? Salvagable?

I just got finish microbiology and trust me in the right conditions mold can grow at rapid rates. We have grown plenty of bacteria and molds overnight a bunch of times that flourish like crazy.

    Back-to-back batches, who's doing it?

    Copper coil

Oh and I agree do not rinse off anything once u sanitized in starsan. U could accidentally be infecting your beer which could pose some off flavors. DON'T FEAR THE BUBBLES! lol. I have had bubble flowing out of my secondary after racking and I have never been unhappy with my results.

    Copper coil

You actually don't have to sanitize your coil as long as you put it in your wort 10 mins before you 60 min boil is over but it doesn't hurt to sanitize. It's just more or less a waste of time. Of course be sure the coil was cleaned of and debris before dropping it in lol

Taking a keg on a trip

I would crank the psi up to 30 for the trip to account for the temperature change. Then when u get it back on ice put it back down to 10-12 or whatever u had it at but I'm sure you won't lose much carbonation anyways.

    Mold? Salvagable?

Yup def looks like mold and for anyone that thought that it couldn't grow so quickly, anything can thrive in your beer bc it contains the perfect environment for microbes to flourish. Yeast isn't the only microbe that ferments sugars lol.

    First time brewer

Northern brewer has some good 1 gallon kits to get your feet wet. I started with a gallon of caribou slobber and I must say it was awesome. After that I was hooked and bought everything I needed to make 5 gal batches from the keg to a brewing spoon lol.

    Forced carbonating

I keep my beer at room temperature till I decide to bottle. The pressure I keep it at is 30psi. Now for the question. Do i keep it at this pressure or do I lower it once I achieve the carbonation I want? Thanks for the help everyone

    Weird taste after forced carbonation

Everything got a good wash down with the starsan cleaner so I doubt that contamination is the issue. They brew tasted awesome till this morning when I tried it yesterday and it has a weird kinda metallic bite to it. At first thought I was thinking I over carbonated it but it doesn't floam up...

    Used soda keg

I'm assuming I'm good. I didn't know you had to seat the seal. I assumed that it wouldn't leak from the start but I guess they all leak for the first few seconds at the tanks fills. I did however order a new cap lol

    Used soda keg

I didn't mention a specific psi but I did say that it would leak for the first few seconds and was wondering if that was normal. This kinda answers my question though. Thanks!
