    Time In Secondary?

I just brewed a holiday ale on Saturday, it's looking to come out about 13.2% or so. I was thinking 2 weeks in the secondary, should I let it sit a little longer then?

    Time In Secondary?

I have done about 5 brews so far and something I am still trying to understand is how long to leave a beer in the secondary? I see some people do a week and some up to 6 weeks. What determines this amount of time, the style of beer? Ingredients? Thanks.

    X-mas Ale Suggestions

I think I am ready to brew this one. I have decided to go with a Flying Dog Imperial Porter clone, switch out the yeast for the WLP545 Belgian Strong Ale Yeast. Plan on adding Amaretto to the secondary for the almond flavoring. I am still fairly new to home brewing so does anyone see any issues...

    Getting BIG Coconut Flavor

I had an Almond Joy Stout at the Charlotte Oktoberfest last weekend that was amazing. Glad I found this thread, was wondering about brewing with coconut.

    Using Frozen Cherries

I recently made a chocolate stout (a recipe I have brewed before) but this time added frozen cherries. I used about 2.5 lbs in the primary and then another 1.5 lbs in the secondary. It's been about 4 weeks now in the bottle and I don't get much, if any, cherry flavor. One problem I am having is...

    Cloudy, No Bubbling

Moved to the secondary on Saturday, sitting at 7.35% so there must have been a leak because the yeast was definitely working. Seems to have cleared up some as well.

    X-mas Ale Suggestions

Is there something else I can throw in to give it a slight berry taste. I don't want anything overpowering. Thanks.

    Cloudy, No Bubbling

I have 2 buckets. This is the first time I have used this one and you are correct, I don't think it seals real tight. I will let this one sit a while, thanks for the advice.

    X-mas Ale Suggestions

I want to try and do something a little different and have it ready to pass out by Christmas. I am thinking about doing a porter with cranberries and then throwing in some almond brandy and maybe a vanilla bean. How long should something like this sit in the secondary and bottles before...

    Cloudy, No Bubbling

Greetings. I have a couple of questions about a Sierra Nevada pale ale clone extract we are currently brewing. I am semi-new to home brewing, currently on my 4th batch. 1) We are not getting any bubbling after pitching the yeast, I took a reading yesterday and after 3 days we went from...
