    Best NEIPA hop combos

I have been using Strata since it was X331 - killer hop! In the same category as Citra, Mosaic, & Galaxy IMHO. I go through 2-3lbs a year of it. Citra & Strata are a match made in heaven. I strongly recommend the Citra/I7/Strata --- but I hate azacca. Use all three equal parts in the...

I did not like Hornindal either - voss seemed "average" to me. I think Loli is the same as Voss. Kveiking is also my fave - I have an over built starter that I will be using shortly hence my above question - thanks @Dgallo for the tip!

Do you use one tablespoon of decanted slurry - aka the paste at bottom of jar - or one tablespoon of yeast/liquid mixture from the bag?

Do you get a subtle "savory" flavor with this combo? I have gotten a savory flavor everytime I use Mosaic in the WP or for more than 0.5oz/gal in the dryhop. This happens regardless the hop lot and even in commercial beers that all mosaic. The flavor is very subtle early on but becomes more...

In my experience Denali & Galaxy dont compliment each other well. My vote goes to the later. Also, FYI: Denali, Citra, Strata w/ Conan yeast is my fave combo ever. Use equal parts whirlpool & dryhop.

    Best NEIPA hop combos

Simcoe is a staple in my whirlpool but I always use a blend: equal parts Simcoe, Bravo & Citra. All of those mesh well together and make a nice citrus base with a hint of pine for balance. Using all Simcoe you would probably be equal citrus & earthy pine. The yeast will drop most of the pine...

here are pics - guess which keg was moved... These are now six weeks in keg. 80% TF - GP 12% Crisp malted oats 5% Chit malt 3% Honey malt Also - these pours are about 6-7mins old. This foam only started happening when I began using chit malt. I know this foam can be achieved without chit...

@aaronm13 Here is the directions to follow to ferment in keg and do keg to keg transfer. It explains the process that @cheesebach mentions: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/pressurized-closed-loop-corny-keg-fermenting.600563/

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I am traveling now so I cannot post a pic but I echo these findings. I have two beers on tap at home now - both fermented with A24 (thanks for recommendation @Dgallo), same grain bill w/ malted oats but different hops - both used heavy dryhops (1.75oz/gal) at FG after soft crash, both were...

    2-vessel HERMS or 3 vessels?

It is a function of grain absorption and deadspace. I dont recall my settings at the moment, but go into the profiles and look at these values. (I think I have 0.5gal of deadspace and grain absorption at 0.8) BIAB default profile assumes no deadspace and has the lowest grain absorption due to...

***NEW PRODUCT*** The Yeast Brink from Nor Cal Brewing Solutions

No @alibremo sorry. That is just a regular ball lock. You gotta have a big bore to push the sludge through. Preferably a 1.5" TC or at the very least a 0.5" ball ball valve (ball valves are not good idea on cold side but can work if good with sanitation.

Plenty of folks on here know more that me about "same" strains from different suppliers having genetic differences that affect performance so I wont belabor that point. My point is this: If you want to use Conan yeast strain, use Imperial Organics A04 Barbarian. My attenuation is always 73%+...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I mashed a little bit higher than my usual and landed at 1.019 (normally around 1.014). The body is shockingly light Considering that I used 2lbs of oat malt and the FG. I am intimately familiar with Conan, so I am sure that it is not the yeast. Ever since my brew a few months ago that was...
