    Going all grain

Make yourself a mash tun out of a water cooler. You can make a great one at a great price. Personally check ebay for the chiller. I made one which works but it came out very little savings and likely won't perform as well as commercially made ones. Ebay has some chillers... It's barely worth...

    Going all grain

I went right in to all grain. I bought a kit online with all the gadgets. I bought an 8 gallon pot on ebay . I built my mash tun out of a water cooler according to dozens of articles online . I also made a wort chiller although this wasn't much of a savings . Mine works but didn't come out the...

California Orange County brand new 12oz amber beer bottles cheap

They appear to be excellent. They are craft brew bottles . Same dimensions as other craft beer bottles I've had. They are not the same dimensions as like a dos Equis bottle or a Sam Adams. I got these from the LA harbor a shipment coming in. They tossed a pallet because many bottles were broken...

Good enough to bottle tomorrow? That's day 14 but sadly my high temps probably sped things up.

    First brew quantity...

I recently started beer brewing and started with a 5 gallon all grain setup. My first beer is a few days from bottling. There is so much knowledge in effort in brewing. I'd start with 5 gallons. The marginal effort and cost is minuscule for the extra few gallons yet your yield is almost double...

Bottling first beer. Do I transfer yeast cake along with beer to bottling bucket?

Thanks for the great info! My original gravity was around 1.043 the gravity after 6 days was 1.016 when I transferred it in to the glass carboy secondary. I'm sure the 6 day transfer was early but I'm so new to the hobby I just tried to follow the recipe to a T which I did fairly well. My OG...

Bottling first beer. Do I transfer yeast cake along with beer to bottling bucket?

For my first ever brew, I bought an all grain kit from midwest. I built/purchased all the equipment to get me started right in to all grain. After 6 days I transferred the beer from primary to secondary fermentation in to a glass carboy. I left most of the trub I could behind and tossed it...
