Just brewed this up today. Lots of trouble with the mash, burnt grain bag, too wide brewpot made it difficult to steep/mash the grain, also had trouble keeping the mash temp. We'll see how it turns out. Smelled pretty great when I pitched the S-05 a minute ago. Also forgot to measure my OG, oops.

Gonna try and brew the extract version this weekend. I have never used DME before. Is there any concern about the color darkening with DME like LME so you only add half at the beginning of the boil? or can I just add the entire bag at once?

Mine is on my condo deck so it doesnt get a ton of direct rain but I'll give it a shot. Thanks

I've only given it some miracle grow once about a month ago. Since then its started this trend and I was afraid I'd burnt the leaves or overwatered so I was afraid to fertilize more.

Same boat here. Can't tell if its rain, too much water or lack of nutrients. Lower leaves are drying and splotchy, upper parts are still growing and starting to flower. Hit it with neem about a week ago to stave or bugs and mildew. Any thoughts? One thing I've considered is I only get partial...

Ok your feedback makes sense to me. Thanks, yeah Beersmith says my OG would be 1.055, so I need to jack up the DME more. Your process for steeping grains and adding the FWH makes sense too. Good luck, I'm prob a month out from having time to make this, so I'll be looking to see how yours turns out.

Couple of questions regarding the extract version: 1) I plugged the extract recipe into Beersmith and my ABV is only 5.1%. Any ideas why its so low? 2) If I wanted to do BIAB, I'd steep the grains along with the FWH addition for 30 mins at 150ish?

yeah next time I brew mine I'm gonna try warming it up a bit. Mine stayed in the 64 degree range as well and its a little sweeter than I would like. Still damn tasty though.

I used 2.4 and it came out fantastic.

That's what I wanted to use but my LHBS sold me on Wyeast 1968.

Yeah I was just adjusting my extract recipe for 60 mins. Hopefully it's not too different. I moved the 25 min Citra and Amarillo additions to 30 mins to add a few IBUs back.
