Are European tap handle connections smaller or larger than the US standard size?

You can buy a "lid opener" at Home Depot etc for a couple of bucks that makes easy work of getting those lids off. I think AHS sells them now too.

I got the same Craft of Stone Brewery book as TonyR, looks cool. Also got tap handles for my kegerator (Sierra Nevada & a "shortie" Dogfish Head one that doesn't fit...). And a cool DFH cap ;)

I'm not tied to a US Craft, just thought it might be a nice mix - brown ale/craft. I'll see what Specs has in stock from Samuel Smith, they've usually got a good-ish selection.

Picked up a bi-metal hole saw... And that was that, drilled through the door with *zero* troubles. Two taps now all set up. Thanks for listening to my venting & giving me good advice, people!

The drill is variable speed. It's old, but it rocks :) The bit isn't painted orange or white... I suspect that's the problem, that it's just rated for wood. Time to hit up a better hardware store than Home Depot.
