    Beer a little weak. Thoughts?

ok thanks for the information. Lots to think about next time. :) Could be correct about measuring before the water got fully mixed in. It is sounding like the brew should be successful. Will test the SG some more before I proceed though. Thanks all for your help/advise on this. Cheers!

    Beer a little weak. Thoughts?

Hey drainbamage, Thanks for the comments. Do you think there is any reason to leave the beer in the fermenter longer or should I move forward and keg it? Am I correct to have left the priming sugar out? (don't even put in the keg correct?) If I assume the OG was read incorrectly and use...

    Beer a little weak. Thoughts?

Hey all, So I did 5 gal batch of beer using a kit. I've still got the beer in the fermenter and took the FG reading from a sample. I'm noticing the ABV is about a % point lower than the lowest value listed on the instructions. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts or if its possible to...

    Keg Foam

You're probably right. I will be doing some more tinkering once I'm closer to kegging my home-brew in there. I'm also a bit confused with how to extend the lines. This kegerator came with 3/16" lines but everything I see around seems to be 5/16 or 1/4. Cheers!

    Keg Foam

Hey all, Just to update that it appears after changing the temp on the fridge my beer is pouring a lot better. Will continue to monitor (and use the info provided) and see how it goes once I tap some homebrew. Thanks all for your help. Cheers!

    Keg Foam

By commercial keg I mean one that I purchased from a beer retailer with a well known IPA beer inside it. :) I believe the keg would be a sixth barrel which is close to the same as a corny.

    Keg Foam

So I've started some experiments. Temp Test: I put a thermometer in the fridge on the floor along with a glass of water (dont have one that would go in the water ok) -The water was quite cold to drink (colder than my regular fridge for sure) -The thermometer reads about 5-6 degree's...

    Keg Foam

Hey MagicMatt, Thanks for your reply. I'll keep that in mind also when I test the fridge temp. I'll likely have a beer in the process so I'll try and check then and do some tests. Cheers!

    Keg Foam

Hey Stranman, I believe I have similar kegerator. Mine would be the dual tap version. I'll do some testing for the temperature and check that table to confirm what I got going on and see if that helps. Would the lines that came with the unit not be suitable?? Thanks!!

    Keg Foam

Hey all, So I recently got a kegerator and while I wait for my home-brew to brew I decided I'd invest in a commercial keg to try out the kegerator. Wondering if anyone has any pointers/tips...etc. I've noticed that when I open the tap for the beer the first glass (or half of it say) is...

    Kegerator Help

Hey all, Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I've decided in the end to go with: http://torontobrewing.ca/index.php/edgestar-kegerator-dual-tap-tower-beer-fridge.html It's not quite as sweet as the kegerator.com one which came with the kegs but at least torontobrewing will be...

    Kegerator Help

Hey m00ps, Saw your reply after my previous reply. Yeah that looks like a good way to go. Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding Canadian places to buy from. Checked the site and they don't ship to Canada. :( There are intermediate shippers that I could use so its not out of the question...

    Kegerator Help

Hey all, Thanks for your replies. Don't really want a full size fridge as I don't have the space for this. I also like the idea of the smaller ones coming ready to be used as a kegerator with little or no modification required. Checked Walmart.com, fridge also looks good. In all...

    Kegerator Help

Hello all, I've been thinking I'd like to buy basic economic kegerator and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice. Firstly I've never "kegged" before so I'd still having to learn that part. Historically I've bottled. I found this one...

    Does my beer have alcohol?

Will try drinking some more probably once I get a few people to help out. :)

    Does my beer have alcohol?

Hey hunter_la5, Yeah I've already bottled. Can't do FG reading? My reading from the beer is roughly what was estimated earlier. I'd say it could also be around 1.007. Cheers!

    Does my beer have alcohol?

Hey all, Thanks a lot for the quick replies! I’ll try and answer your questions as best I can. :) So yes I used a kit and the instructions for the kit can be found here: http://www.brewersbestkits.com/pdf/1020%202013%20Belgian%20Golden%20Ale%20Recipe.pdf One thing I had not mentioned...

    Does my beer have alcohol?

Hey there, So this is a two part question. First question: Is there any way I can tell approximately how much alcohol % is in my finished beer after all the process is completed? I've made a batch of beer using a kit that starts from making wort, fermentation, 2nd fermentation...
