    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

What length stainless coil would be required to drop in this thing for temp control? Temperature control is the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger…

    Motor Salvage for Grain Mill

Agreed, I spent ~42 dollars just on my large pulley for the mill. However, I preferred the fit and finish of a permanently mounted motor vs a handheld drill.

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

Link now goes to the main page of agrimart.net I did a search on their site and found: http://agrimart.net/15-gallon-full-drain-inductor-tank-infd15-19/ But in it's description it lists "Fitting Options: 1 1/2" FPT BOSS molded-in threaded outlet, or 2" MPT outlet" the 2"MPT confuses me...

    Motor Salvage for Grain Mill

I would imagine that a vac motor would turn crazy rpm. I salvaged a motor from a old clothes washer to power my grain mill. It's definitely overkill, but it was free.

    Money!!!

I see them as brewers assistants. However, at 1.5 years old, not yet at peak efficiency. On brewing equipment, I have spent more than I would probably like to know, but I have done as others in this thread have mentioned: Slowly acquire parts and pieces. Start off with the minimum and...

    Countertop Brutus 20

Since my kettle is short and wide, I have a pretty high boil off rate. I typically do 3.5 gal batches with preboil volume of 4.9 gals. I have my system setup sortof modular where I can either use my 7 gal or 15 gal boil kettle, for batches from 2.5 to 10 gallons.

    Countertop Brutus 20

Thanks for that info, jkarp. I have made five batches so far on my little CB20. The first four batches I had issues with lautering with my stainless braid (probably was too small), so last week I threw together a cpvc manifold, which performed far better. I have been interested in getting a...

My First Beer Related iPhone App

I can't resist. This app has ruined my life. I was happy to buy beer before, now I realize how much it really costs. It's only Bud Light for me now. Thanks alot!

    Countertop Brutus 20

I was inspired by this thread, and have nearly collected all the required parts. I keep stumbling onto sporadic posts that mention efficiency issues with higher than 1.050 OG. Even google turned up what looked to be Lonnie saying something to that effect back in 2008. Granted, I really don't...

    How did you find us?

Google for me too, BUT I was trying to figure out why my Mr Beer Kit wasn't producing good beer.

    Cone chimney on BK?

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I need to do something exactly like this. Would you think that it would be ok to simply cut a hole in my flat kettle lid for the exhaust pipe, or does it require a dome or cone shape? Scared of DMS. Thought I'd ask before wasting my time. Thanks, Marlin

I say give it to someone who still bottles. ;)

    racking cane sterilization

Inspired by the pics and ideas on this thread, I made a pvc sanitizing tower. Instead of the reducing coupling on the bottom, I used a 2x3 bushing and inverted toilet flange. This made it less tippy. 24" of 2" pipe is holding 1.5 quarts of starsan solution.
