    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

@nujjer As @BreeBrew says the iSpindel won't complete the boot process until it is fully built and found all the hardware. Assuming you have fully built it you can see what's happening on the serial port, which should be set to a baud rate of 115200. Looks like you just missed off the...

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

@LBussy Like I said, not realy an issue and not really sure if that's what I saw, wasn't paying that much attention  On the first complete boot with the new firmware after everything was updated I think the disconnected probe reported -127 and on the second, and subsequent, refreshes...

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

@LBussy OTA works fine from 2.1.1, all setting preserved. Did I spot that on the first boot after OTA update that the unconnected temperature probe was reading -127.00 and then on the next server update the temperature changed to "not connected". This is obviously not an issue just an...

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

@LBussy All looking good. DS18B20 not connected is being reported as such, checked on both channels. Version number is reported correctly in Help and Update. What I am missing though is the little bubble icon when a bubble is detected :mischievous: . Hopefully will get something fermenting...

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

@LBussy Updates looking good! Don't know why serial port wasn't working last night but this evening all working fine (on the bench). Hopefully get something fermenting next week to evaluate properly :inbottle:

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

@LBussy A quick late night bench test... Functionality appears OK, it counts my fingers and temperature changes appropriately. The version number is reported as 2.1.1. Serial debugging doesn't seem to work anymore? It's late, I need to sleep, I'll test again tomorrow evening (UK time). Good...

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

@LBussy I can confirm that I can update via BrewFlasher and that I can update ThingSpeak with random finger detection. Don't have anything bubbling at the moment so only finger movement counted. Good stuff! Again!!! Chris

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

@Enkie Yes, I've have a look at my D1 Mini Pro and that is the diode to remove. Regarding the aerial, I'd suggest to try it first without making any modifications. For my application it's range has been not nearly as good as a D1 Mini, at least I assumed that was the difference? If you get a...

@Enkie looks like we posted at about the same time, yes, I agree the component circled.

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Hmm, you've got a D1 Mini Pro there not a D1 Mini and for the iSpindle that may not be the best choice. It might work, but works best with an external aerial, hence the connector in the top left corner. I've used a Pro in another project without an external aerial and it was fine but it might...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I can answer the second question but would be interested in answers to the first question! No, you can't leave out any hardware without modifying the software. First thing the programme does is to check out the hardware and won't complete the boot process until it does. Chris

Without erasing and reflashing I'm not aware of anything else. Just make sure you have a note of your calibration equation BEFORE you erase! I'd recommend that you use BrewFlasher to performt the erase and reflash although it can be performed with the expressif toolset. Good luck!

Agreed with @clientsoup , the D1 mini will not get pass the hardware detection to boot successfully. You can flash the D1 mini before assembly but it will not boot until completely assembled.

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

Just done a bit of testing. Using Brewflasher to install 2.1.1 all works fine. OTA upgrade from 2.0.0. or 2.1.0 fails.

Sorry messages crossed over. Just to calrify, I'm following instructions that you referenced in earlier message, I don't get any errors reported. I did do an erase first. I'll revert to 2.0.0. for now
