Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

I should add the reason I started to log was to see if the iSpindel showed up there. I wouldn't usually start to log until I got the temperature near 20C. I can restart/reconfigure anything on the Pi and losing the current log isn't an issue.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

This is the non-docker installation that I upgraded (eventually) late last night, the controllers and iSpindels were all shown on the "home" screen. I did a backup of that system this morning and then started a fermentation. After filling the fermenter, I set the control mode to beer constant...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@Thorrak Errmmm, something not quite right with the non-docker fermentation... The gravity sensors have disappeared and when I started to log, there is no graph. I can load an earlier log and the graph for that is displayed OK. I can't, at the moment, get to any iSpindel information, for any...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@Thorrak WooHoo that did it, my "new" pi just looks like my old one, at least on the home screen. I did start a ferment off first thing with the non-docker Pi, so will have to wait for a couple of weeks before I attach the controllers and iSpindels to the docker Pi. Two observations: The beer...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@Thorrak My new system can be reconfigured as required, it's not in use yet. Would a copy of my backup file help?

@Thorrak Set the Pi up last week, but did the upgrade this morning.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@Thorrak I've just done a backup of my non-docker installation and tried to restore it to my "new" Pi and I get the following error: 413 Request Entity Too Large I've not done any other configuration of the new system and it has no controllers attached as yet.

Took over an hour but success! Thank you! Everything appears to be as it was and I now get a message recommending an upgrade to docker version. Phew, I need a drink, but it's way past my bed time.

Ah, wrong file, here's what I hope is the right one. Am I right in guessing the upgrade didn't complete? Is there a way to trigger the update again?

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

@Thorrak Ermmm, I just did the update from within Fermentrack and it's not come back up. I can connect to the Pi (VNC) and look at the install.log and I see no errors reported, I'm assuming that's where I should look? The only issue I can see is the IP address reported at the end of the log...

Yes to try and maintain battery health and yes I will continue to look for a suitable container/capsule.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Out of curiousity I tried it, the install didn't complete. As I didn't really expect it to work I didn't pay attention to what the error(s) were. Happy to give it another go if it would be a worthwhile exercise?

NEVER try to make sensible posts AFTER the second bottle of wine  No matter how good your handiwork is!

I'm currently thinking yes it is? I recharge when I get down to 3.5V or so. I get a couple of months or half a dozen brews out one charge (so far). I might add the Rapt Pill container parts to my next Kegland order and then look at a PCB redesign however, I'm more interested in a "shrunk"...

Those the Raspberry Pi's that I currently have. I've repurposed my V3 to something that I hope will be more usefull, that is, to making more wine. On the other hand I've had to sanity check this SO MANY times (UK time) perhaps I should stop making homebrew

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Oooh, I was just thinking of "upgrading" my install from Pi V 1.2 to Pi V 3a. I think I'll wait... Now if it only logged BrewBubbles it would be perfect :ghostly:

Ah! That's not good ,but thank you for checking. I'd be happy to solder a wire onto the ADC input of the chip, that does not mean that everyone is. I'm going to stick to the 12F for now and keep looking a smaller container. Slow burner project!

I've got test tubes, but couldn't get the electronics small enough to fit. Over the next few days I'll have a detailed look at the dimesions and if it works I'll source some ESP03s to test. Thanks guys!

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

@Lalo_uy Thank you! Excellent call, I was using an ESP12F as I had one to hand, it also is a direct drop in replacement. I'll be looking at the ESP03 this week to see how it works... I'll see how quick I can get some to test.
