So after spending 8 weeks at sea. i finaly tasted my try on this.. i gotta say.. spot on on sugar for carbonating. fluffy good foam. But. Its a light color, tastes ok. but there is a hell of allot of Hop taste to it.. kinda overpowering. Dunno if this will mellow out after a few more months...
I cant control temperatures that well in my brewing shack.. but i think im able to hold a steady 10c. Would that affect the taste allot? Ive screwed 20l of beer due to high temp.
if you have plastic fermenter... fill up to the 20 liter mark (5.2 gallons) mark there with a hard piece of metal that can scratch deep or etch it. and then fill up to 6 gallons and mark there... its really easy...

Soo. I have 3 Gals of plain mead clearifying and aging in secondary fermenter right now... and was thinking of how fun it would be to oak age 1 gallon of it.
My question is. For how long do i put it on oak for?
well i just do other stuff while thats going on. like when im going to bottle beer or transfer beer or mead to 2nd fermenter. you could just slowly lay it on its side aswell... never had problem with my 8 gallon glass crardboy

since the bottles are used i dont wanna risk having an infection. + there are cigarets in allot of them and snus and moltet beer residue... so yeah... i use around 10 ml of starsan.. so its not a waste... and starsan is quit cheap here only 22 dollars for 8 oz
