    Hello from Ontario

Welcome to the hobby! I also agree with hydrating, although starters are so much fun! However I'd also use a stir plate for a starter and I start 48hrs before brewing. So take from that what you will. I'm in SO also. Burlington to be exact. And there are clubs and meets all over the place and...

Honey Rye Ale - Feedback Welcome

I'm brewing a Saison with rye malt right now. Your recipe looks really good but I'd drop the mash temp down to dry it out and bring out the rye malt, but that's my taste. I'd probably look at 151 for 60.

    Driveway Pilsner

Do every home brewer a favour and post the make and model of that burner. You might be saving sombody else the loss or injury. Good to hear you avoided the latter, my condolences on the loss... as for the yeast, I agree with the cover with distilled water cover and refrigerate, use it as soon as...

New Hop Garden 2014 (pic heavy)

Most high end garden centers (not HD or TSC) Like Tera in Canada, sell garden quality twine and also a soft velcro type tie material that work really well with vines of all types. I'm not at home this weekend, but when I get back on Monday I'll post pics of both.

    Canadian Roll Call!!

Pretty much all plants and Rhizomes you can get in Ont are good growing here. Richters sells most varieties online, as well as Dornoch Hops who are pretty much done selling for the season I believe.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

You'll be a tad more bitter than the original post recipe, but looks fine to me.

I'm not sure about bottle conditioning. I do know when force carbing in keg, the colder the better.

    Bottling with short neck bottles

Impressive. Price point might be out of my range though. I'll stick to flip tops for now.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

It all looks right. The only thing I would have done different would be upping the hops amounts, and possibly delaying one addition. Your recipe only hits 14.4 IBU's. You might want to try 1oz Fuggle at 60, and .5 oz of Crystal at 30, that bumps the IBU's to 21.1, which is in the green zone in...

Slight medicine taste in my kegged beers that fades with time. Cause of this?

2-3 weeks?!?!? Force carbing should take 10-14 days tops. I never even though of that. That's probably the answer right there.

    Bottling with short neck bottles

I'd love to see a vid of this in action.

Slight medicine taste in my kegged beers that fades with time. Cause of this?

I agree with Rockn the heavier maltier beers are masking the taste. I'd bet it's the Carbing sugars. After 3 weeks all of would definitely be gone. Maybe try carbing with CO2 as an experiment?

What's wrong with it? A grain bill and recipe rundown might help also. SG/FG, mash temps and as much detail as possible will help us help you with a conclusion. AJ
