    my 15 gal conical

I know some of the guys here are less concerned due to the positive pressure from fermentation but, my team isn't called the A**l Retentive Brewers Guild for nothing. If I go this route, I'll airlock it.

    Blackharp Brewing Herms Build

I have sen comment where 6" between vessels will have some of the heat applied to one vessel get to it's neighbor. The steel lengths at Lowes near me are standard at 6ft, so I'm thinking to go with that, less cutting.

Is that a screwoff top on that? Does it seal?

    Weldless brew stand.

Hey, Ox. I was looking in Lowes this week at the various parts available. Do you have a parts breakdown on what you used? For additional stability I may lay a piece of plywood or fiberboard screwed in accross the bottom as a shelf for offline storage and to help drop the center of gravity a bit.

    fermentation chest?

Oh definitely. It will at least slow down the fluctuation and possibly trim the peaks and valleys. Remember though that heat rises and so anytime you open the chest, the heat will rise out. Build one so your sensors can be viewed from outside and possibly a sight glass so you can see what is...

Kegerator in TV room: Approved! Need brainstorm on mess prevention.

How about a drip try from the auto shop that used to keep dripping oil and fluids from hitting the floor. I know we had some at the San Diego auto museum back in the 80's. I suspect you could find them in any of the car collector catalogues.

    Inline Water Filtration

I use an undersink type active charcoal filter for all my water. My water is already super soft and requires mineral to be added anyway. The filter itself should come with info about what it will take out. You don't normally have to worry about your filter taking out necessary minerals.

Quick questions about single tier build

I'd put the hole on the underside to facilitate drainage and prevent direct inflow of liquid.

GE 7 CF (FCM7SUWW) keezer conversion

I see a bunch of the guys adding the collars to the lid. I would think it would be better to add the collars to the body so the hinge doesn't have the extra weight. Anybody do it this way?

Rough CU FT for 4 corny's

7.0 cft isn't enough for 4. Tight for 3. My recommendation is to trace the bottom of a corny onto 4 pieces of cardboard and cut them out. When you go look at the cooler, bring your 4 discs with you. If the 4 will fit, your 4 cornies will fit. Edit: Some of the guys apparently do have 7s that'll...

I can't believe how hard drilling a keg is

Absolutely, the knockout punches re the way to go. I got a Dewalt 3/8" cobalt pilot point drill bit from Lowes for $11. (I anticipate doing this often over the next year with several brewers). Used this to drill the access holes for a Greenlee 1/2" conduit 7/8" punch. Used a standard 6amp...

    Brew rig skirt/wind shield

Why not just get some cement backer board for tile? It'll block the wind, it's not flammable and will block heat for your sensitive stuff. Something like this: Backer board from Lowes 3x5 for $11.50. Paint it. Lots cheaper.
