    Kegging Question

Hi all. My CO2 ran out while still connected to the keg. Obviously getting it re-filled but my question is once I do get it re-filled will I have to start the carb process over again?

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

I made this back in April and just got around to finally tasting it this past weekend. I was worried as I am not a fan of IPA/hoppiness but was told this is more of a summer beer. Dead on. Loved it. Excellent. Totally recommend this recipe

    Quick keg question

Hi all. I kegged a pale ale about 3 weeks ago or so. Checked it last night and it tastes pretty good however I would like just a little more carbonation in it. It pours well and gives a lot of head, but not an obscene amount or anything, in the glass but it calms down after a minute. Should...

    Massive foaming

The one I tried did start right away but it took a few seconds to get started. But once it made its way out of the bottle it really picked up steam. I've had this happen before a few times. I think we all have at one point or another. However the other ones were a much slower foaming...

    Massive foaming

Admittedly I did not check FG as I left it in primary for a month or more. I figured for sure it was way past done fermenting. Can't be infection as I was maniacal about sanitizing.

    Massive foaming

So I made a 2.5 gal Scotch ale a few months ago. I was very specific about each ingredient and step of the process. I used corn sugar to bottle and I went sightly light on the recommended amount as I want just slightly less carb but I know I was dead on. Anyways I have been letting the...

    Budweiser is changing it's name

According to a press release from Budweiser’s St. Louis-based brewer, Anheuser-Busch (which has been owned by the Belgian company InBev since 2008), the patriotic packaging — which also will include lines from “America the Beautiful” and the Pledge of Allegiance — is aimed at inspiring drinkers...

Primary fermentation still bubbling after a month

First off I do have to apologize as I said it was Yoopers Pale Ale when in fact it is Ed Worts Pale Ale. My apologies. Nottingham yeast was used. Carboy has been sitting in my living room since day one. It's been cold and I think my average house temp was about 62 air temp.

Primary fermentation still bubbling after a month

Hey all. I made a 5 gallon batch of Yoopers Haus Pale Ale about a month ago. It bubbled away quite nicely for about 3 days and died off just as fast. Been sitting in the primary vessel since untouched. But while sitting around doing nothing, something I am really good at, I can hear it blip...

    Priming Sugar Question

Hi all. Looking for a little advice. About to bottle a 2.5 gallon batch of an Old Chub Scotch Ale clone. My question is what volume would you suggest? I have researched a number of different places and I see anything from 1.9 to 2.3. What would you folks recommend?

    Better Call Saul

I love watching the struggle in Jimmy so desperately wanting the respect from his brother and his true love for Chuck but also realizing he is kind of sleazy and will never be Chuck. I also think this print shop scenario is the beginning of the end for Chuck in some form or another. As much as...

Whay am I missing OG by so much?

For sparge I put bag and grain back in cooler, dmped water in, stirred and waited 10 minutes and drained

Whay am I missing OG by so much?

I mashed at 155 for one hour. End temp was 152. I drew out 2.75 gallons wort. Sparged with 4.5 gallons to get a pre-boil volume of 6.50 gallons to get dow to 5.25 after boil.

Whay am I missing OG by so much?

Ok here is what I remember. Recipe called for 10.5lbs grain. I mashed 3.5 gallons water at 165 to settle at 155 for one hours. End mash temp was around 151-152. That part is a true mystery to me in itself as I had this in a 5 gallon round cooler AND I put it right in front of me heat vent...

Whay am I missing OG by so much?

First off I am a BIAB brewer but I don't think that makes a difference as I have made a handful of BIAB beers and been very close to OG. However the last 2-3 have been way off. Today I made Yoopers Haus Pale Ale. Mashed at 155 and it ended up at about 151-152 for some reason. 6.5 gallons...

American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

I am looking to make this beer this weekend. As I am not a fan of IPA's, too hoppy for me, I do like a nice APA, which is what I think this is. Can someone describe to me the over taste and how is the level of hoppiness.

    Pros and Cons of BIAB

I was having major drainage issues in my picnic cooler. I was using a SS braided toilet thingy. So I took off the toilet thingy and left the faucet on the cooler and now use the bag in the cooler. Perfect. Lots of room in the cooler if needed. I can absolutely control temperatures. When...

Making mead one gallon at a time

I'd go 3lbs honey, your choice, I use clover, water and yeast. Put the jar your honey is in in warm water. This will make it easier to pour and get more honey out of the jar. Put some room temperature water in your just or whatever you are using. Pour honey in. Put more water in to the one...
