Points taken! I'll have spacers soldered, and play around with the pressure and the air shutters.. I'm VERY new to all of this, and will learn the hard way (and judging by my burnt eyelashes, VERY hard way) haha, thanks!

    Burner FAIL

Well I finally got my manifold setup and the burners connected, tested all 3 of them without the kegs and they worked fine. Problem started when I tested one with the keg on top, the burner started shooting flames out of the oxygen intake and well, it just didn't work.. I had to raise the kegs...

haha, I know that the top wont last with the fire and all, made it clear to my friend who powder coated it, "well, we'll paint it again!" is all he said, so I'm not worried at all! strat_thru_marshall: Thank you for the design! Will def. take lots of pictures once I mount the burners and fire...

    Poor Man's False Bottom?

I looked into all the options for a FB, I was between a Sabco and jaybirds, I was looking for 15" so they were both priced pretty much the same... I'll give the Oxo a try for now but I have no doubt that I'll get a "real" one after a few batches as well... Thx!

    Poor Man's False Bottom?

well, considering I was about to spend 100 bucks for a sabco FB, this cost me 20, so I guess it is worth a try, I'll let you guys know in 2 weeks once my place chiller arrives!

    Nano - build out!

At what point are you filtering your beer? If I remember correctly you even filtered the jucundus at your anniversary last week, or maybe I'd had way too many glasses by the time I got to that one. Great beer, great party, will be going back as soon as my growler is empty. Greetings from...

First of all, thanks to strat_thru_marshall for helping me out with his stand diagram. Bought the tube last week, had it soldered and received it today, here's how it looks as it is now: Will get it powder coated in Chrome Black (hopefully they have it) this weekend. I received my...

    Yet another False Bottom question...

I understand that Jaybird is part of the homebretalk "family" if you will, but honestly, what advantages are there from his 15" to Sabco's? Sabco just seems better quality.. Why should I buy from JB? I WANT to be convinced since I also support small business owners whenever I can, I just want...

    Yet another False Bottom question...

I'm looking for a FB for my sanke mash tun conversion and although I've read a ton of posts, I'm still not sure what to buy! What size should I get? What is the difference if I use a 10" a 12" or a full 15"? For 12" I've looked at jaybirds and the ABT one, is 15" really worth the price...

FINALLY have my 3 kegs, ready to add the fittings but.. which ones??

Well hello there neighbor! Will be doing gravity transfers at first but most definitely will move to pump within a couple of months, took a look at BF and will order the keg weldless bulkhead kit (x3) with the 3 piece valve, I just think it looks nicer :D is there a difference if I pump? Thanks!

FINALLY have my 3 kegs, ready to add the fittings but.. which ones??

So I have my kegs ready to convert, the thermometer and the sight glass are no problem, what I'm having trouble with is which valves to use? What size should they be? What are the pro's and cons from regular and 3 piece (which I like) I'm also trying to do this weldless.. Any tips?

    Beer carbonated like a Soda!

Yes, I did boil the sugar with a little water, and what I measured as 3/4 of a cup was the syrup that resulted.. I will try the beer this weekend to see if anything has changed and will let you know! Thx

    Beer carbonated like a Soda!

I used 3/4 of a cup for 5 gallons.. I will put one in the fridge and give the rest some time... I bottled my porter yesterday with the same quantity, I hadn't heard that anything other than corn sugar would thin it out and thought that brown sugar might work well with dark beers, I've a...
