    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

Doing a test gallon was a good idea.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

I'm behind a day as I donated platelets yesterday🩸 @thetick Very nice low key IPA (that's a compliment). Ginger and honey really go well together - this beer would be fun to enter in a competition as I think it would stand out. Did you go with the EKG?

Drip feed fertilizer injector for deer repellent?

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking about those little drip feed sprinklers like this: to spray individual plants that the deer go for.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

Last night's beverage from @Rish. As you can see, it poured dark brown with a moderate off white head, that dissipated to a ring of fine bubbles, pretty clear. Flavor was malty with a balanced holiday spiced combo. Lower ABV made for easy drinking, which I think non-beer geeks (as well as me)...

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

One of these suckers. This is the 1st time I lagered/carbed in a keg, with the intention of bottling the whole keg later on. I suspect that I slowly lost some carbonation as I bottled a couple of cases of beer. For a comp, I only bottle a few beers so no noticeable loss of carb. So yeah, a...

The carbonation level baffles me. That keg lagered for 5 months at 12 PSI. I wonder if the gauge is faulty.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

Tom - I just realized I looked at the wrong list, which had @BAF for the stout. Sorry about that.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

@tdf Tasting bourbon, vanilla, and star anise on a silky finish. Not much of the other spices, though it has a low bitter finish that they may be responsible for. A very quaffable spiced stout!

Geez, how did I get behind?! 😃 @mjdonnelly68 Santa Sips is delish. The spices are prominent but very nicely in balance with the malt and body. The most seasonal one I've had so far.

@kwilson16 I only got a small sample of the dubble as we were tasting all sorts of beer with my neighbors. We all enjoyed it. I'll do a proper glass when I'm on vaca next week.

If my tasting notes are uncool, please let me know. Also, as we work through each beer, should the brewer share his recipe?

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

Day 1 - The Abby weizen pours a yellow-golden color, slightly hazy, with a thick white head that is long lasting. Grainy malt flavor, hop bitterness is low, hop flavor low and floral, some citrus notes on the finish, a very low clove note as well. Mouthfeel is medium body with a dry finish. Very...
