    The only thing i can think of is that I used too much - the package was for up to 6 gallons and I had about 3.5...I would think it would just settle out tho. There is a lot of gunk settled out in the bottom so something is happening...it's just not what I'd hoped for. Grrr

    Thanks! I won't worry about the tablets then. I hate adding preservatives if I don't need to. I wouldn't even bother with clarifiers, but I want to take some with me when I travel overseas in a few weeks as a gift and it's not quite cleared up yet...

    Thanks for the tips everyone...I think I'll hunt down some K&C and give it a go. I didn't add any pectic enzyme when I started (forgot) so it may not completely clarify, I'm just concerned about it still settling out in the bottles while it sits until christmas...if it's a wee bit hazy I'm OK...

The 3 gallon is nice and full with very little headspace and the 1 gallon is nearly full and has most of whatever leftover sludge was there...

    wow-just checked the SG and it's already down to 1.01! He hee. I think I'll give it a bit longer before racking, maybe until next weekend and see if it goes down a bit more or levels off. I hope it will go down a bit more. So glad to know it's fermenting well :)
