Pics of your all grain setup

10 gallons in the laundry closet. All the gear stays stacked neatly in the closet while quivering in anticipation for its next brew session. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=254292&stc=1&d=1423219895

What's The Strangest Way You've Opened A Beer?

^^^ I used to date a girl that would do this same thing too. Gotta love them Montana ladies :)

    Confession Time

I don't use an airlock or blow off tube. My fermenter is some sort of juice/kimchi making jug with a threaded top. Anyways, I tighten the top down and then back it off a little bit to allow Co2 out. Man, I feel better.

    Mark Knopfler

Smcinco, I've played guitar for quite some time and I agree with you. The solos and fills are fairly simple but hot damn are they gorgeous. I love how the fills feel like rebuttals to Mark's singing.

Who has the most obscure hobby?

Awesome thread! Nothing too obscure here but thought I'd pitch in 1. Apartment hydroponics/aquaponics (basil - nothing too exciting) 2. Studying permaculture/homesteading 3. Playing cribbage 4. Scrutinizing every move in life for maximum efficiency to the point of OCD (leave the...

Looking to Step up my system

Will your 70 qt (I assume you mean quart) Coleman fit two fermenters side-by-side? If so that satisfies the ability to move up to double batch as well as fermentation control in the same move. When at home, I use the 6201 Coleman Xtreme. Smartest thing I've done in quite some time.

Are you looking to go nice and shiny or don't mind getting a bit ghetto?

    All grain here I come!!

Here's mine: It's a hybrid. It's got a drilled stopper with a copper elbow under the stainless steel strainer. The muslin liner keeps me from worrying about a dedicated manifold or a stuck sparge.

    Brewing in Daegu, South Korea

Rus, I love Korea for many reasons but the beer is not one of them: domestic, light and cold sums it up. That said, 2014 was a big year with imports gaining traction and laws changing allowing small brewpubs to pop up. The future is looking bright. Beer aside, the food here is awesome...

Which Coleman 70 QT for mash tun

Is it cool if I vote for the unlisted cooler #3: Coleman Xtreme 6201 (100 qt)? Big enough for any beer you want to make + you can do a water bath for both of your fermenters when to time arises. Also, the spigot bore is circular and easily modifiable. I have this setup in the US and all it...

    Brewing in Daegu, South Korea

Hey Phil, Welcome. I'm in Daejeon to your west. Homebrewing hasn't exactly just landed on the shores here. I've been in the 6 years I've been here and I know a fella in Seoul that's been at it since the late 90s. That said, the available of supplies has risen exponentially in the last...

Do you need a kegerator to use a keg practically?

Haha ... That's a pretty cool ole' lady right there. The point I was trying to make is whether or not a wooden shelf in your primary fridge would cause marital distress.

Do you need a kegerator to use a keg practically?

As an alternative to the mini-reg posted in this thread, take a look at this: http://www.kegconnection.com/pin-valve-regulator-single-guage-5-16-check-valve/ It's compact and fits the ubiquitous paintball CO2 tank. OP ... How cool is your 'ole lady?

    Milk Stouts

I just brewed my first sweet stout using 1lb ala the Northern Brewer Sweet Stout recipe. It's thick and, as a result, is more of an every other day drink. In the future, I'll probably cut the lactose in half and call it a daily drinker. Otherwise, wicked delicious.

    Suggestions for DIY improvements

    1) depending on how low tech you want to take you mash tun , I'm partial to a colander plus muslin. Just saw that you plan to fly sparge. Never mind. Sent from my iPod touch using Home Brew

Getting new equipment - what do you think?

That 8 gallon pot would serve you well as your sparge water pot should you consider moving up to 10G in the future. If it were me, and I could save a few bucks by doing so, I'd forego the spigot in favor of an unmolested, virgin model. Spigots snag on things and might impede stackability in...

What's your best 'fast' brew beer?

Kind of an odd ball one here but I just did the 'sweet stout' from NorthernBrewer's recipe bank. I took a page from Gordon Strong's playbook and added the dark grains to the MT right before lauter. Fermented for 10 days and was drinking on the 11th. It's an excellent recipe (though I might...
